I am debating on getting the quick serve option next year for an extra 545, 68 dollars more per day. or just buying all food out of pocket. It looks like with us having two kids on the plan will make it worthwile. Getting two snacks and two counter service meals all for 9.99 a day.

I am going back and forth on whether or not to get the option. I am sure my kids will share meals too, they are pretty light eaters.

Plus, isnt the drink for the adults included in the price?

so if i was to get two meals per day at 12 dollars, and then get a 3 dollar drink, tha tis 30 dollars in costs, with the plan i would get an additional two snack to have..

I am so confused on what to do!! Help!!

thanks.

I think it really is a good deal. There were days our bill for a quick service lunch would have been pushing $40 or $50, that was for 3 of us (DS is 10 so counts as an adult). So you'd probably be getting over $100 of food a day.

But, if you have a tight budget and will have a car, I'd so don't get it. If I had to pay OOP for the regular dining plan, I probably wouldn't. We might eat a light lunch in the parks and drive off property for dinner. Before the dining plan, we never ate a lot in the parks because of cost....we've only gotten the dining plan twice, and both times it was free. That's just me. I know there are plenty of people who pay for it and are happy to.

Sorry to butt in, but what is the cost for adults QS. Icouldn't find it in the DDP sticky.

We don't have a 2009 sticky, The QS plan is not in effect until 2009.

The cost of the quick service only plan is $29.99 per adult per night, $8.99 per child.

We had the same debate on the weekend, NO plan vs. DDQuick service (family of 4).
We tested several menus online for various CS restaurants, each time our order averaged $45-$50 (with only 3drinks & 2desserts). For us the $$DDQuick plan would be worth it for the 2CS each per day (2snacks/day & mugs included would be a bonus). It was a given that even if we didn’t go with the DDP we were going to get the mugs. I like the snacks because it keeps the girls busy before the fireworks or after waiting for the crowds to pass. The only concern we have is some CS locations are not on the 2009 plan yet :confused3 (but are included for 2008, including our resort). We were told we had 72 hrs prior to check in to include the DDP. We’re considering it.

Next task would be compare the DDQuick vs. the DDRegular plan. But, my DH is gonna be a tough sell, he wants to be more flexible & not be limited to the park that we have our ADR.
If anyone has any opinions or strategies, it’s appreciated
Thanks

We have the DDQS plan on our ressie for next March/April. For us, a family of 4 with 2 under 10, the savings will be substantial. Our kids, especially the 5 year old, are becoming better eaters. If you look at the menus of most counter service restaurants, you have lots more choices than burgers and fries. One of our favorites in MK is Cosmic Rays - some good choices there.

The snacks and the mugs, however, is what sold me on the QS plan. We're staying in ASMu family suites which puts us close to the food court and will use those mugs alot! Also, we all tend to be snackers at the parks. Being able to get a small popcorn and drinks during the day will be great, as we usually just want "a little something to tide us over" - the small portions will be good.

DW likes the idea of not being tied to a park/timetable as with ADRs. We will probably have one table-service character meal, paid OP. I would really prefer the regular dining plan, but I'm the only one willing to try new types of food, so it would be a huge waste of money for my family!

Russell sounds like you are thinking the same thing. We are paying for 2 chaacter meals oop, and doing the QS plan because I dont want to be tied down to when and where i need to eat and what parks on what days..

I think its a wonderful deal if you have kids under 10. But for my family of four, with two kids who are 12 and 14 (and 12yo is not a big eater) I am not so sure. I just priced out eating breakfast with juice at a value food court, lunch with drink and dessert at Pecos Bills and two average snacks and came to about $28.00. Which is what the plan costs. However, that is all more food than I would need or want. I then priced out more what a typical day for our family would be if we ate two cs meals and some snacks and came to more like about $75 a day. So way cheaper than the $120 per day the meal plan costs. Even with the free mugs, I think I can do better. I am sort of bummed, I was hoping the quick serve plan would be more like $25 or a bit less per day. I think only having it be $10 less than the regular DDP is disappointing. But for sure, if I had kids 9 or under, it might be a very good deal.

Again, I am bummed, I love being able to prepay for my meals and then not worry about a thing. But I think this plan is a bit overpriced. I wish they would knock off the dessert and lower the price down. I mean two snacks plus potentially two desserts? They probably know a lot of people will waste snack credits.

We are debating doing the QS plan but will not. My DD will be 11 but weighs less than 60lbs. No way will she eat 29.99 worth of food. If she could count as a child and only get kids meals, we would do it. I wish you could buy it with use of kids meals/adults instead of age. I love paying for everything up front but it seems like it would be a waste.

I am running the numbers here as well. It doesn't look like it would be worth it for us, at all. Which is sad, because I really wanted to be able to not have to worry about paying for things while we are there.

My dd will be four when we go, and there is just no way she'll eat enough for it to be worth it. I have to force her to eat at home, I don't want to constantly nag her to eat while we are there. We'll see, I guess.

We are looking into the QS plan also, but we are going Jan 1-10 and as I understand it the QS plan starts the middle of January '09, is that true?

I agree with you. My DD is 12 and can only eat as much as what's in a kids meal but my DS 10 likes to eat off of the adult menu. Why put age restrictions on the meals? Why couldn't I just have a plan with 3 adults and 1 kids meal?
