I saw on another board that per that person's travel agent, the new 2009 rates should be out tomorrow or the 31st. :cool1:

Just for giggles, I went to disney website, and while you can choose 2009 as your year, when you submit your 2009 dates, you still get the message that they can only book until December 31, 2008. :sad1:

However, it IS progress! I'll be checking again in the morning! :surfweb:

I think that person is wrong. The 2009 rates are usually release around mid-August. Last year it was Aug 5, year before was Aug 14. By my best guess and what my AAA agent was told by their Disney rep (from Disney Corp), the rates will release on Aug 3.

But who knows, it will happen when it happens :confused3 I guess they are just getting the system ready and that will take a while knowing their system :thumbsup2

Let me just start out by saying I have no solid information whatsoever.

A few days ago I called to add a night to one-half of my February 2009 split stay. There was no availability to add a day in the room category I wanted. The CM told me to call back once the 2009 rates come out, as cancelations can tend to happen around that time. I asked if she knew when that will be (waiting and hoping for a delicious piece of inside information).

She told me that she hasn't been informed exactly when it will happen, but she said that she noticed she has many more hours on her work schedule for the second and third weeks of August, which she said leads her to assume that the new rates will be available beginning the 2nd week in August. She said that management must figure DRC/CRO will be much busier around that time as compared to now.

They can't come out too soon as I'm anxiously waiting to book our trip for next July :cool1: :cool1:. About a month ago I went online and looked at booking a room only with my arrival date being 12/31/08 and my departure sometime that first week of January, just to see what prices it would give me. I took that price and compared it to the 2008 value season (since January is usually value season). The Poly showed $340/night for 2008 and $350/night for January 2009. Then I tried the GF the same way and got quoted $385/night for 2008 and $399/night for 2009.....same season as well as same room category. I don't know how accurate that will be once the rates come out for 2009, but I'm thinking the increase can't be much more than that :confused3. I just wish they'd release the dates already so I can book .

Actually, last year the 2009 packages were released on Sunday, August 5. That was the day I booked our June 2008 trip as I had been anxiously waiting to do so.

Over on the dining board, a Dining CM said that on August 3 2009 packages will be released.

Ticket prices are rumored to be going up on August 3, also.

My money is currently on August 3, but we will see.

Okay, sorry, I got my days mixed up. I had so much going on then. I booked my 2008 trip on Aug 3rd, and the discount for Dec 2007 came out on Aug 15 for AP holders and I was trying to get ready for my Aug trip at the same time.

I had just spent the whole week before trying to get my room for Dec 2008 booked one night at a time, then bam the packages came out, and I didn't know what to do.

In 2006, it was Aug 14, I believe and it came out a week earlier in 2007. I think. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
