2009 Never Expire Ticket - worthless

To the OP: I successfully added an unused non-expiring ticket to MDE but it was painful. It's very difficult to distinguish between O01l on the ticket. Patience and a magnifying glass required.

Gook luck, I can imagine your frustration!

You wouldn't have a friend that you trust that's in Florida, or other family, would you? If so, I'd suggest perhaps send the ticket to them, have them to go Disney Springs, and do the deed before sending the new ticket via mail back to you?
I wouldn't do this. It's just shifting an unpleasant task from yourself to a friend.
OP - To be fair, I agree it really is a bit annoying you can't do it over the phone. I can't imagine the feeling you must have experienced looking at those unexpired tickets for the past 10 years, taunting you to book a new trip. Have a great trip!
I wonder if Disney doesn't make it a little difficult so you'll think, "Can't be done. I'll just buy new tickets."

We bought 10 day no expiration tickets I think in 2007. Used a couple days.

Since then we've gotten married at Disney World and had an annual pass and they introduced magic bands.

When they decided to do away with no expiration tickets, we purchased another 10 day one that was able to be put on our magic bands. However they were also able to put the original 10 day one as well.

However, last time we were there and we weren't park hopping, we decided to do a 3 day basic pass. We also did an After Hours event. So we had to have the 3 day basic pass and then the after hours event prioritize.

FWIW, I had a 10-day non-expiring ticket with 3 days left from 2010 and was able to get that activated for MDE before the 60 day point just a couple months ago. So maybe try again? I have a hard time seeing the difference between your 2009 and my 2010 ticket.

Back in 2003, I was a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 girls and at that time they were 12 and 9. I kept the tickets that were given as a souvenir and one day I was talking to a co-worker about my past Disney trip. Here to find out that I had 5 day non expiring tickets including water park and hopping. I called Disney about these, I had to photo copy front and back and gave specifics of when I went and who was included. To find out that I had multiple time left on these tickets and used one ticket at a time with my past Disney trips. All you need to do is make a phone call and the tickets will be golden.

I had a similar situation and called the ticket phone line. They gave me something called a "FP planning key card" that will allow us to schedule FPs and then assign them to our tickets once we convert them at the park.

We had a family member cancel last minute years ago. As a result, I have a ten day park ticket that was never used. The ticket was purchsed in 2009. Spent the weekend trying to link it to MDE for an upcoming trip, but couldn't do it. Called Disney and after working with the CM for a little while, they determined the ticket needed to be converted AT THE PARK. So if I want to use this ticket for FP+, I need to fly to WDW and head on over to the park? This is nonsense. I went ahead and purchased tickets for everybody. I get that the ticket isn't worthless, I will convert the ticket during our trip. I'm just shocked that with the technology available in the world today, they can't simply void out this old ticket and issue me a new one. That seems a little easier than requiring people to travel several hundred miles for a two minute exchange at their counter.
you could have purchased tickets for all in your party but one and then once there and have that ticket re-activated, go the City hall and they could have ghosted your fast passes to match your families, don't know why they didn't tell you that....

Yes, I was going to recommend this. I just did something similar last weekend. We've had an unexpected opportunity come up for a trip in late April. But it's a week our gold annual passes are blocked, so we're going to upgrade to platinum. I called the passholder line, and they put two FastPass cards on my MDE account that allowed me to make FPs at 60 days. I just have to upgrade my APs when we get to WDW to have valid admission. I had never heard of this solution but was really pleased to be offered it!

No, it's the first day of a 5-day trip. This trip is just me and my gf, and we had this extra one laying around, so I bought 5 tickets for one of us and 4 for the other.

If you’re ever going to have a one day trip to the parks, that one day is way more valuable than an add-on, though. What does it cost to add one day to a 4 day ticket? Not as much as buying a one day ticket, that’s for sure.

Try the email route:
Include photos of the ticket
Include your MDX info
Ask if entitlements can be added to your MDX Profile
Email ticket.inquiries@disneyworld.com
Add emailing my drivers license too, and the above is what I did - with 2010 no expire tickets. Worked fine - took about a week to hear back (a very nice and intelligent sounding CM called me to explain, and then about an hour later the entitlements were in my MDE.) Of course everyone's mileage may vary, and who knows maybe 2009 tix are different than 2010. 3 of our 4 tickets had been used at least once, but had several days left each. One was unused.

First - thanks for all the suggestions. Just to clarify - it wasn't a "no expire" ticket. It was just a ticket that was never used, not even once, so the clock never started. Apparently tickets such as mine purchased in 2010 or later can be converted over the phone. Tickets before 2010 depend on how the ticket was issued (according to the CM I spoke with). Mine is a plastic, credit card style, ticket. It is red with Mickey on it. I don't really have any issue going to guest relations, my concern was not being able to make FP+ reservations at the 60 day window. I raised this with the CM, who told me I only had two options. Buy a ticket for this trip, and convert the old ticket during the trip for future use - or - use the ticket, but not make FP+ selections until I arrive. I should have come to Disboards before accepting this as gospel.

This isn't the first time it's occured to me that I wish there was a Guest Relation componnet to Disney stores. I remember one of my early trips years ago I went to a Disney Store at an area mall thinking I could buy my park tickets there. I was suprised that not only could I not buy tickets, they didn't even have park maps or anything else related to travel to the parks. Am I the only one who wished the Disney Stores could do more than just sell merchandise?
