2009 Bookings

Does anyone know when we can start booking 2009 vacations? I had a 40% off coupon that I used to book a trip in October (for the Wine Festival!), but I have to cancel due to a surprise trip my grandma is taking our whole family on. I'm excited for the family trip but am having Disney withdrawals. I don't think we'll be able to go during the rest of 2008, but I can't find anything on 2009 yet (at least on Disney's website).

I'm wondering about this as well. If anybody has any information regarding 2009 package release dates, it would be very much appreciated.

The 2009 prices are due out sometime in August. You can book a room only now paying 1 night's room rate at 2008 peak or holiday rates, then Disney will adjust that once the 2009 prices are released. But to book a package for 2009, you have to wait until the prices are released .

Is it wise to book the room now and then add on the package once the rates come out? Or better to wait and do it all at once? I am hoping for some kind of discount and want to stay at WL in March. I actually booked the room only but am wondering if that was a dumb move and should cancel it and rebook the package next month. Thoughts/advice???

How are you booking in 2009? I am not even looking for a code yet and the web page won't let me see prices at all (in the package section). I guess I am answering my own question but I am guessing you all just booked room rate only and not packages? I am goind to check the web page now for room rates in Feb 2009.

You have to do it over the phone. I have no idea why they won't let you book for next year online, I can only guess that its because they charge you some random amount for a deposit and that would be too hard to explain online (not that its any easier to explain over the phone, and not that all the people who work the phones even understand the rate situation, but that's another rant entirely).

And to answer a previous question, as long as you have the money for the deposit right now, you might as well go ahead and book the room now. If you decide to convert it to a package or cancel and rebook later or whatever, the deposit is refundable until like 5 days before. So you have nothing to lose (except the interest on your deposit) by booking now. Lockin in your room and keep your eyes open for a better deal!

I emailed Disney last week and the answer I got was mid-August. I told them how frustrating it was to not be able to book my 2009 trip yet. Their response was that they were "evaluating" all the options because they wanted to provide us with the best choices. I think that's a fairly "canned" answer. Hopefully, we will have the info by mid-August.

no, just a room rate. but my mom was at AAA and they didn't have the room rates there. the cm said the package rates would be out in mid-august.

Did you get a Room Only quote for 2009 based on 2008 Peak Season Rack Rates or did you get an actual rate for 2009? It is my understanding that all they are giving right now is rates based on 2008 Peak Season Rack Rates. Not actual 2009 rates.
