Does anyone know when WDW will allow vacation packages for 2008.

We are thinking about going in March or April 1008 and I would like to go ahead with booking.:cool1:

Thanks for any advice.

Michelle

I'm in the same boat as you, except we are planning on February of 2008. I would like an answer to this question as well.

My TA told me it could be anytime from June-September this year that packages for 2008 would come out. We are planning for first week of March and are just waiting, waiting, waiting too!

Just know that if you do this, the price of your reservation will not stay the same. Obviously depending on the time of year you go, and with any increase in accomodations and/or ticket prices, you can look at a definite increase in price. The cast member should not have advised this as a quote for December is not going to apply to July 2008. The prices are usually released around July/August 2007. From there, it's 499 days out that can be booked. Therefore, come July and the prices come out, you will not be able to book for December 2008. Keep that in mind.

yes, he said the price will change some but not that much because i want to go in july 2008 and it is value season also...he did that so i could go ahead and start paying on it...it was his idea not mine...i know it will go up a little..i live in florida so i will look out for fl res. codes.

I am going in December of 2008 and was told that I could call back in July 2007 and book my trip for this time. The CM stated that you can book your trip 499 days prior to the date of arrival. You should have been able to go ahead and book a package for July 2008 and you can definitely book a package for March 2008. My last trip, December 2006, I booked 15 months in advance, and I called right after we got back because I wanted to go ahead and book my trip for December 2008 and the CM told me to call back on July 27. If you book now for the dates you want, you will not have to pay the price increase if and when there is one, since you booked before the prices went up, unless you change dates. I would go ahead and call Disney and book my trip if I were you.

My TA told me that you can book room only 499 days out but not packages. She said the 2008 ones are not out yet. We could book just the room now but she would have to change the ressie once the 2008 pkgs came out and she said we would have to pay the 2008 prices once they came out. We opted just to wait till this summer to book since we definately want a package. When it comes to this stuff you seem to hear all different things from the different people you talk to.

I don't deal with TA's for that very reason. I spoke, personally with a Disney CM at WDW travel Co and he said that you can book a package 499 days prior to your arrival. You have to think that people are already booking for early 2008, so you must be able to book them. I booked my lst trip 15 mohts in advance and had no problem. When the room rate and ticket prices went up, I didn't have to pay the difference. I'm not going to let a TA ruin my vacation because they have incorrect info. To each his own.

I'm glad you booked what works for you! I am going to wait for the summer and my TA. I adore her and its been a pleasure working with her in the past. She is in no way going to "ruin my vacation".

Regardless of whether you book with a TA or call directly the same rules apply. TA's are bound by the same rules. Yes, the timeframe is 499 days in advance, so the castmember was correct there. However, that is considering that the package prices are out. They don't usually come out until July/Aug, which is why the cast member told you to call back then. The information that they gave you is correct. Anyone telling you otherwise is wrong. Even if you book it now, you are still responsible for the increase in price if there is one. Prices are not guaranteed for 2008. As a matter of fact, it is sometimes beneficial to book with TA's. There's no price discount obviously, but once again, they are bound by the same rules and the TA does not have the wrong info. Depending on when you book and if the prices are already the guaranteed price, they will not go up. But if the package prices are not out yet, then the prices are not guaranteed and therefore, you will be responsible for the package price. In fact, ANY room only that is for 2008 is NOT a guaranteed price and you WILL be responsible for the difference. In addition, if you pay the deposit for the room only, once the package prices come out, then the room only that you have booked will need to be canceled, the money refunded and the package booked and repay the deposit. Typically the packages with the basic plan come out earlier (packages but not with park tickets) than the full package, but this is usually around late jun/early july. This is the only way around having to cancel/rebook.

MomofCKJ you are correct in the info that their TA gave them. Don't let anyone mislead you with incorrect advice.
