There is probably a thread already posted about this, but I was wondering when the 2008 rates for the resorts are going to be coming out. Will I be able to find out then if August 10-17, 2008 are in peak season still?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Late July or sometime in August is the tradiitional time for these rates to be released.

I've called Disney every other day since June 13th. As a matter of fact, I just hung up with them. Every time I call, I get a different answer. Most have told me mid-August. One time I called they said maybe sometime in July. Another time I called, the CM just giggled and said anytime now.

I can tell you that in 2005 and 2006, the next year's package prices came out on August 15th. I booked the same day they came out.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for July but I'm thinking August.

Ok I'm glad other people are getting varied responses. I was told a couple of days ago that it was going to be at the end of this month. Another CM told me they had no idea. Is it a bad idea to book before the rates come out and then just have them adjusted when the actual rates do come out?

Someone said you could count on a 5% increase in the room rate. Has anyone else heard that?

Thanks :thumbsup2

You can book a room now (full 2008 rates will be applied when released). For a package, you have to wait until the package prices are released.

I booked a room only ressie a few weeks ago, called back to try to book a basic package and was told to call back on June 23. I did that and was then told that I couldn't book ANY package yet, but that they expected rates to come out in mid to late July.

I have to call back to cancel the room only ressie because room only and packages are in 2 different systems. My room only ressie is useless if I want a package

I've been told different things by every CM that I've spoken to.

For what it's worth, we just booked rooms on property from Dec.30th-Jan 2nd. We did this on Saturday. They have the rates, maybe just give them a call.

Don't know how you booked this but the rate for the 30th & 31st are higher than the rate will be for the 1st & 2nd. If you book 2 different ressies then you will get the lower price for the last 2 days. If you booked it all together then you will pay the higher price for all nights.

Sorry if this sounds naive (April '08 trip planned :woohoo: --last one was about 30 years ago!) but is there any advantage to booking tickets, dining plan, etc when the 2008 rates first come out? I've booked my room for my trip and plan to book the other components when they become available but I was unaware if I needed to do it right away...? Thanks!!

The only advantage is that you make sure you get the resort you want.

I'm waiting :surfweb: for the rates to come out also. We are planning a grand gathering party: with both sets of grandparents and a few siblings:grouphug: . I'm in charge of all the planning so everyone is looking to me to tell them how much money they need:scared:.

We booked through the grand gathering rep. I honestly don't know if they gave us the value season rates or not for the Jan. nights. I will have to look into it.

Can't help with that one - we are at the WL. Dec31st - $359 and Jan 1st - 7th at $215. I know that rate will go up but not that much. I first was going to book Dec 31st - Jan 7th and was quoted $359 for each night. They suggested splitting into 2 ressies.

Thanks though for the info about splitting ressies. I will have to call my dad and let him know, and ask how he did it exactly. All of our rooms are under him, a generous man ;)

The wife and I however are staying longer using AAA. Their website shows no rooms for all resorts, so my guess is they don't have pricing yet. Hmmm, I might have to call them, AAA, and ask about 08' rates. They might be willing to give me a date :confused3

The AAA rates are not out yet. I will be using the AAA too.
