Wow thanks! That's a lot of info! I just booked us into 2 concierge rooms at the Polynesian for May 2008:

I'm getting Polynesian LVC for $670/night. With AAA discount $603.

Garden view conciege $545/night. There was no AAA discount available for this.



Totals, including tax:

Lagoon view concierge: $3391.90 for 5 nights

Garden view concierge: $3065. for 5 nights

$360 is the peak weekend rate

See my "We're booked!" thread; someone just posted on there that a CM told them that AAA was NOT out yet, but she told them that she knew someone else DID get the AAA rate, so they checked again and were given the AAA discount. I'd call back and try again!

Its strange because I can see one of the reservations that I just made, on Disney's web site, but it won't show me the second one! (I booked 2 rooms). LOL It's probably just a glitch or the system is slow because of a lot of bookings this morning.

I just thought of something.... on the reservation that I can see, we put down a deposit; but on the other reservation we didn't because DH's Aunt wants to send in a check. I wonder if that makes a difference???

I don't think they want to eliminate you...I see it as an expansion of Florida resident rates/AP rates, they would love you to come on the weekends, just not in peak and holiday season when they can easily fill the rooms. For those people 5% more for two nights, won't make or break the trip IMHO.

I hope they go back to a % discount! The AP rates right now can be a good deal if you're booked into a Std./Garden room at the deluxes, but become less of an incentive the higher you go.

Even though they're not out yet, I'm willing to bet that the AAA rate I got for my GF RPC stay this coming November (which I booked last August) will be a much better value than a flat $ off amount with an AP rate.
