First I want to say that the DDP is great for people who want to try the expensive restaurants or people who really eat a lot. My boyfriend and I both were on the DDP for 6 days and it ended up being way too much food than we would normally eat, so next time we wont be doing the DDP unless it changes somehow where it compliments us. BUT let me say it did save us some money.

We got a snack, quick service and table service every night we stayed.

The prices of our items were pretty consistant, so here is an example.

When we went to Magic Kingdom:
Early lunch at cosmic rays, I got the half chicken meal...it was 9.09 plus a drink and a dessert valued at 3.59. So the total was about 13-16 dollars (not sure if drink was included)

Ate Dinner at Ohana- 28.99 a person, so say 29 dollars total (per)

Had our snack credit at our hotel, POR, for a double ice cream cone 3.79. So I rounded up to 4 dollars.

The total was around 47.00 dollars that day, per person, when we only paid 37 a day to be on the DDP.

BUT if you are not big eaters or go to an expensive restaurant you will likely LOSE money:

For example:
Snack credit- drink about 2.00
QS Meal- 7.59 (avg hamburger/fries)+3.59 (dessert)
TS Meal- Sci Fi Meal- Burger/Fries 11.99 plus dessert about 5.99

The total would be about 31 dollars give or take, and you can lose money.

Sorry, but I'm taking away your Philly card. You can't be from Philly and say you got too much food, didn't you read the handbook? :rotfl2:

Glad you had a good trip, got ENOUGH to eat and saved money. :thumbsup2

We just booked our first trip for may 26th through the 30th and using the disney vacation package planner through their website we realized that they were originally charging us MORE (what equated to half a DDP) when we didnt have a DDP included with our room and tickets.

So I was estimating around 450 OOP for my DW and DD (7), and I called to see how much a DDP would be and was told it would be 219.89, so i totally booked it. I thought this was a STEAL Then i redid the math and thats when i realized that i was originally being charged for half a DDP(versus pricing room and tickets separate) without seeing any of the benefits.

So my point is, if anyone is unsure, call and find out how much more it would cost to add the DDP, it might be less than you think

LOL well I still ate it all..my bf isnt from philly so I guess that is rubbing off of me..:rotfl:

For us we didn't think it saved us money per say. I felt we ate many more times than we would have since we had the DDP. If we didn't have it we would have ate less; which in theory would have cost us less money. So, essentialy the plan cost us more.
