****2008 Ddp FAQ****

Are the restaurants at The Swan and Dolphin not participating in the DDP? I don't see them listed. If they aren't that makes the decision about eating at Gulliver's Grill really easy.

tinkz18: In 2008, a snack on the DDP is a snack - a single-serving item as designated either in writing in the Dining Plan brochure or by a symbol on the display rack at the location.

EnnEss: Yes, you can get the DDP with an AAA discount. You just can't combine discounts - specifically, for example, if Free Dining is offered. Then you can get EITHER Free Dining OR the AAA discount, but not both.

stagemomx3: No, the Swan/Dolphin have never participated in the Disney Dining Plan in any way - no restaurants participate, and no S/D Guests are eligible for the DDP.

This is the whole 2008 package inclusions list.....

The Disney Dining Plan cannot be purchased separately. It is one component of the following Magic Your Way packages: Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining; Magic Your Way Package Plus Deluxe Dining; Magic Your Way Premium Package; Magic Your Way Platinum Package. To enjoy the Disney Dining Plan, you must purchase one of these packages prior to your arrival. These packages are not available for purchase after your arrival.

Question - We're booked at POP and have the 4-day play passes. I am not sure if that is considered a "package". Can we get the DDP? IF not, I will get the DDE card. Thanks!

Thanks! I wasn't sure. The "package" is only if I get a regular ticket, not 4-day play passes or seasonal tickets, correct? I will just get the DDE card then as it won't make sense to buy 1-day tickets and then buy the dining plan.

You have to buy at least 1 day ticket for it to be a package. I am not sure about the DDE card now, but in 2005 when I had it, I couldn't use it at amny places, like POP. Kept hearing "we don't take that" I was not happy as it did me no good, even on a 10 day trip.

We had a very good experience compared to PP. They accept the DDE many places, just mostly not at CS locations where there is a TS option. They do actually accept it at Pop, but maybe that's new since 2005. Here's a list of participating restaurants as of February 2008:

Thanks! I did check where they accept it, and will use the DDE for all our TS meals, plus at POP.

Using the DDE, we will save at least $40 ($100+ savings minus the $65 for the card). If we bought 1 day tickets and then paid for the DDP, it would be $150 over the cost of using the DDE. And I can't break up our ressie into two to save on the DDP, because we need 6 TS per person.

Oh, the stuff we trip planners have to do to get the best deals! LOL

I probably missed this link, but can anyone tell me where to find the 2008 restaurant menu's with prices? I'm signed up for Deluxe DDP and just want to check if I'm saving money.

I just posted a reply in your other thread. :goodvibes:

Thanks for your help!!! I just added up all the meals we would eat including 2 snacks a day and drinks at the meals. This doesn't include any tip since the DDDP doesn't include that. It also only includes the meals we would normally order - which isn't appy's or dessert. If I count the price that shows up for the DDDDP at the beginning of this thread - (and I hope I'm understanding that right - is it $38.00 per adult per night of stay? not per meal right? - So with my family staying 8 nights with 4 adults and 1 child category that would be $1296.00) I would normally pay $1797.00 oop if I kept my original ADR's and just order like we do at home. That means I'm saving $500.00 if I do the DDDDP! I hope I did that right! What does everyone think?

OOPS - the prices I was going off of is the standard DDP, we are on the DxDDP - anyone know the daily prices of those? I still think the savings would be significant as we have several TS and Character meals planned.

DxDDP is 69.99/night per adult and 19.99/night per child

With the new holiday surcharges that Disney is putting on some of the character/buffet locations during prime times (ie Easter), does anyone know if the DDP will still cover the full meal cost? I looked at the meals for our upcoming trip and OUCH, these holiday surcharges are steep for a family of 5. Now the DDP makes alot more sense if it covers this increased cost. Anyone know?
