2008 Columbus Day Weekend Traveler's Question - Crowd Level

I was interested in finding out info on how the crowd level was this past Columbus Day weekend. We're thinking about planning a trip to WDW next year during that time. DW doesn't want to take DS out of school for the whole week. I'm trying to have him only miss two days or school, and tie it into the Columbus Day weekend next year. DS and I both want to take part in the MNSSHP again. Any info about the crowd level would be great. Thanks!

I was there from the Thursday before Columbus Day until the Tuesday after and did MK on Columbus Day. I found the crowds to be very manageable. The only ride my DH got a FP for was Space Mountain. The wait time for most rides was no more than 30 minutes. We even managed to walk right on quite a few in the afternoon. I was expecting the worst and was very pleasantly surprised. It definitely seemed like it was a good time to go.

Thanks for the info. DW is still not certain if she wants to go next year. This year, I agreed to take a year off from DW. DS and I want to go back again next year. My sister and niece already said that they would make the trip with us next year if DW decides that she doesn't want to go.
