Today is the funeral of the President of our church. He was a great man. He will be missed.
Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal, is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey ... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.
~ Gordon B. Hinckley
I have already had the Atlas out measuring distances to DL. I'm thinking it's a 6-8 hour drive. (???) It is the state's one redeeming factor--ok, Arizona has some beautiful canyons, colorful deserts and really hard dead trees, too, so not such a bad place. He hasn't called all day. I guess that's a good sign, right?
Ahhhh. Birk sandals all year round. Hippy me would actually like that.He called. We'll know next week, but he's 1 of 5, so no predictions. If not this, I know what needs to happen will. It'll all work out. It always does.
