2007 Room Rates Out For All Categories!

Ouch !

I rather not look at them like that. It is a much easier pill to swallow to just call on the phone to get the bad news of how much it cost.

Thanks! The chart is terrific!

On the other hand, YIKES! those prices are steep! So maybe we DON'T want to consider going during peak season. I am sure as heck not going to make a room only ressie and put down a deposit of one night at rack rate! :scared:

Perhaps I'll sit back and bide my time and see what happens in the next few months with DH's schedule. He won't have his vacation assignement for '07 until the week after Thanksgiving, so it is pointless to try to guess what weeks he will be off. No need to tie up over $350 in a deposit unless I know FOR SURE we can go.

Thanks for posting! If I'm reading correct the only prices that have not increased are Value resorts regular season? Hmm... looks like it's Pop for us next May unless a good AP rate comes out for then!

:( At this rate, it won't be long before Value resorts are 100.00 a night in the value season. :(

I'd still rather pay a WDW premium and stay on property, though. I guess I'm just a little surprised about the increase.

Whew! Deluxes went up $15 bucks a night during the time I travel. I anticipated a 10 increase so 5 more isn't bad. I am definatly getting our GF stay in next year before they really go through the roof.

Booked Poly for 8/21/07-9/1/07. I'm so excited! Prices a steep but hopefully a code or discount package will come out, maybe even free dining. If not, I'll have to settle for AAA rate.

I just read Disney News and Florida wants to raise tourist taxes 1%. I am paying 11.5% for next April already, and some resorts are at 13% because they are located in a different county. Disney and Universal Executives are for it, Jeb Bush has to sign it or veteo it. Any guesses how that will go?

Now that rates are out, can I call and apply a AAA discount? Or do I have to wait until later?

The AAA discounts have not been released yet for 2007. (Or at least I haven't seen any mention of it ... someone please correct me if I'm wrong.) The 2006 AAA rates were released on June 30, 2005, so the 2007 rates should be out soon!

It's almost as if Disney is distinguishing their resorts for the wealthy. Sort of like a snooty effort to "keep out the riff raff" (in their eyes..not mine!). Their resort prices are getting too steep for the middle class!

Thank you very much! I wasn't sure if I was just waiting for room rates to come out, or specifically for AAA rates. Thanks!

It should be interesting. We just returned from Florida and a news topic for two days was the "panic" over lackluster tourism expected in 2007 because of fuel costs. In addition to gas prices, the utility prices in Maryland are increasing by 72% on July 1st. It's something Disney and Universal should definitely consider before raising rates. We were speaking with someone at the Y&B Club about the fact that the speciality cruises have slowed down. In March of 2005, we paid 125.00 for the Illuminations Cruise. This year, it would have been 230.00. Guess what, we declined!

You did read correctly. The regular season rate stayed the same, but the amount of days which it applies to shrunk considerably. The added a new summer rate which is $10 more from May 24-Aug 4. So on the days the new rate applies, they in effect raised the rates.

Oh I wouldn't go that far.

For the value resorts.
Value went from $79-$82.
Regular Stayed the same at $99
The New Summer rate effectively raised rates on these days from $99 to $109
Peak went from $115 to $119
Holiday went from $125-$129.

That's still under what we pay for a room about 2 miles off the beach at Gulf Shores. And on the beach costs more than that.

I don't think that's an effort to keep the rif raf out. They have utility bills to pay like everyone else. The big whammy was summer.

The chart said concierge at AKL was 2 Q and a day bed. We had 1 Q, bunks and the day bed. Are they taking out the bunks from the savannah view concierge also?

Allow me some obligatory railing here... business must be very good at WDW. With gas prices steadily rising, and the juiced up room rates (not by too much, but still...), and the annual ticket price increases, it all puts a lot of pressure on a family trying to make a WDW vacatio work under any budget. An extra $100 cost fo rmy vacation isn't going to break me, but when it increases that much each year for 4-5 years in a row, you really start to notice.
