Hello! I am new to this and this is my first message. :goodvibes
We just got back from the West coast cruise. We sailed on June 3rd. As usual, had a great time. This was our 4th cruise. All on the Magic. We go every other year.
The Captain, Tom, hinted that the 2007 itinerary will be new. Perhaps Greece or Italy. He didn't think Hawaii though. He said it was too far to take the ship. Any rumors out there? Greece and Italy would be fun.
We are tired of going to Mexico. We were on the Magic in 1999, it was diverted to Cozumel because of hurricane Floyd. :umbrella: It was the first trip to Cozumel. Been to Costa Maya. No big deal, just like Cozumel. In fact when we were in a store in Costa Maya it was the same sales people from the day before. They said they took a boat to Costa Maya when they heard the ship was going there instead of the Caymans. (beacuse of wind in 2003) In fact the joke on the ship was: Whya Costa Maya?
Any idea when the 2007 itinerary will be out?
Thanks,
denise :earsgirl:

Nothing but rumors at this point.. I would be really shocked if Greece/Italy were on the itinerary...

When we booked on board last week Danielle said she didn't know if they would be back in florida or back here on the West coast. She didn't mention Italy.

funny he says Hawaii is "too far" but Greece/Italy apparently are close enough???

I doubt they'll do anything too exotic, and expecially if they cannot tie into a theme park ... my guess is they'll repo to the west coast again ... the "runner up" IMHO (and very unlikely) would be cruises in Asia tied to DL Hong Kong and TDL.

This thread is gonna be fun to watch. I remember all the speculation before it was announced that the Magic was going to California this summer. Dis-ers are definitely imaginative and we're also definitely dreamers. Something about the mouse seems to inspire it!

Seems like lately, every time I write anything here, I get myself in trouble...and I'll probably do it again here.
There was a June 4th sailing...so I'm guessing that's the one you were on, Denise?
We were on that one, too. At the Castaway Club party, Capt Tom asked for a vote via clapping and cheering as to where we thought we'd like to see the Magic go....but he didn't say anything about where DCL thought they would go. He tossed out some ideas....Hawaii, the Mediterranean, Alaska....but he didn't say anything specific.
We later had an opportunity to have a private conversation with him....and he said then that he had no idea where the Magic would be in 2007.
:confused3 So, yes...for now, it is simply up to our imaginations.....

I'm pretty sure when I talked to Danielle on my June 11 cruise that I could have booked all the way through Christmas 2007. There were no new iteneraries. Or maybe she misunderstood me and thought I was talking about Christmas 2006. She said the Jan. rates would be coming out in Sept. You know I was just having so much fun on that ship I would have booked anything she had opened.

We will be booking our next family cruise in the next few months. Does anyone know what happens if they change the itinerary on you? Is it better to book as soon as the new pricing comes out? I am thinking seriously about a conerige level suite next time.

They asked about those same ports two years ago on a survey. DCL has had all those ideas in mind for a long time. Personally, I think we'll have to wait for a new ship before we see anything too new. The three/four and seven day itineraries fill the ship, and each variation costs more to run.

Jsme,

If you want a suite, be an early bird. They fill up quickly. One critical thing I would say about DCL is that if you call before the itineraries are out, they will put you on a "wait list" for a certain type of room on a certain date. I have done this twice and was never called. Once I did call after the schedules were released, they were already booked for what I had been "wait listed" for. Best bet is to keep calling until they're out.

oops, sorry it was the 4th of June not the 3rd. Can't believe it has been so long. The three of us are ready to go back. We talked to Captain Tom and he was the one who told us the different possible locations. He said it should come out in about a month or so.
I will be saving my money and dvc points for whatever comes up...just tired of Mexico.

Greece and Italy could be on the itinerary, maybe not that soon though. Right now they are only on the guest surveys to check the amount of interest. Alaska is also on there, along with the mexican riviera and one more option..can't remember right now.

HeelMD,

We almost did a suite for the September cruise and wish we would have. We booked about 6 months out there was two suites left in Cat 3. Nothing in Cat 2.
