We are doing the PFTS 10/13 and 10/20
Also the African wine event!
Well, if our 4 am wake -up works! :thumbsup2

I can't go down for a DIS table now. I don't know what will be happening with my local friends.

All the info is now up on the WDW official website. Nowhere do they say that the special events go on sale on Monday though. At least we get the inside scoop on these message boards.

I just looked at the WDW official website listings and noticed this HUGE change in policies from prior years!!!!!!!

"Event cost is charged in full at time of booking. Changes/refunds are not allowed. Non-transferable. Must attend on the event day and time booked. "

The event cost being charged in full at time of booking is not new, but according to this notation -- anything you book is NON-REFUNDABLE!!!!! There is no cancellation window this year. Ouch!!

I guess everyone booking events during the reservation rush on Monday morning will be darned sure it's what they want. However, that also says to me that there can't be waitlists for events once they fill to capacity. :(

We'll be at PFTS on 10/6:cool1: I have a question about the timing of the Eat to the Beat concert. Do you have enough time to watch the concert and get over to the other side of World Showcase for the start of PFTS?

I would catch the concert on another night if possible! Doing the concert first, will put you in line for PFTS too late to get a good table or possibly any table. Although we haven't actually tried it. It might work if & I would ask for more infor on it, but if they escort everyone over to the PFTS, then maybe it could work out?

Shovan, you can count Jay and me in on that if you're not too scared to share a table with us! ;)

I'll be there with my Mom!! And it's my birthday!!! We'll definitley share a table, especially since my mom really needs the seat because of her back problems. We should exchange info!!

girli565, this sounds great! This sounds like we would have a great mix of people! I will pm you & Brenda! As I think you probably know ( from my reviews ) my Dh is in a wheelchair, so that would probably work out great! I'll pm both you & Brenda (oybolsoi) as soon as I have time! I am so excited to have some dis buds to meet up with!

PFTS on 10/20 :

Shovan: Bob & Sheryl 2
oybolshoie: Brenda & Jay 2
girli565: 2 ? girli & her mom

We've finally figured out what we're trying for on Monday morning...

10/15: F&W pairing in Japan
10/19: F&W pairing at Le Cellier
10/20: PFTS
10/21: Scotch tasting at Rose & Crown

We were really disappointed with a lot of the schedule this year... in part because the things we really wanted to try aren't being offered during our trip.

Oh well, more money to spend over at the Mandara Spa!! :thumbsup2

Good luck to everyone on Monday morning. :goodvibes

Well, I hope to see you in Japan and Canada.

While part of me is jealous of your Scotch pairing, the other part of me can't
be too jealous because I get the South African wine event.

Egad. The new policy BITES.

I've noticed you will be at the PFTS on the 20th! I cant rememer if you will have a large group or not? We are trying to put together a dis table that night! Let us know if you are interested in joining in or trying to set up a table nearby?

Wow, this is such an important find that I felt the need to quote you in the original post of the thread. Nice catch......bad policy though. Maggie

I'm not entirely sure about the non-refundable policy; however, I can understand why they are doing it.

At least its making people really think about their choices before they call and make the reservations.

I don't like the non-refundable policy. I'm still going to book the Party for the Senses and the Sweet Sunday, but what if there's an emergency and I have to cancel my trip or something? I wouldn't like it if I couldn't get back almost $400 just for those two events.

I don't like the policy either. While we have never been in the position where we cancelled on an event we booked, you just never know what can happen. I guess that would leave you trying to find someone who wants to buy your tickets off you or Ebaying them. :sad2:

There are no tickets to the events though-just a list of names. I wonder if they would let you switch names. I guess if you had to someone could go in your place and just give your name. I agree- not liking the no cancellation policy (even though we have never had to cancel.) What if anything happens where you can not make it?

Sorry, bad choice of words on my part. Still...same idea...I suppose you could sell your spot to someone...any time we did PFTS or EE, they just asked us for the name (once they asked for the conf# at EE) and that was it...no id or anything, so I'd think anyone could go in your place.

The notation does also say, "Non-transferable."

Since alcohol is present at all events (well, perhaps not the Twinings Tea), I wouldn't take the chance on selling my spot to someone else. I still get asked for proof of age every now and then.

I did call today to double-check this new policy. It did indeed interpret it correctly. I was told that the Food & Wine events are now considered "hard ticket events" instead of dining reservations and are now as non-refundable as a MNSSHP or MVMCP ticket.
