Does anyone know what kind of car rental discounts are being offered in the 2007 Entertainment Book? I am also having trouble finding decent rental rates for our vacation Feb. 2-9. :moped:

The discount coupons look very similar to what has been in previous Entertainment books. There are coupons for Avis, Alamo, Budget, Enterprise, National, and Hertz. If you need more specifics, let me know. :)

I see Pages of Avis, Ntional, Budget, Alamo, and Hertz. lot like last year, if you need specifics, I'll try to help (leaving Friday and will be out of touch for awhile.

Avis - $25 off weekly (min. of 5 days)

Is it beneficial to purchase the 2007 Entertainment Book? Do you use any of the other coupons?

We do use other coupons from the Entertainment Book, but I must say that the number that they have that we use is becoming less and less. :( Our dry cleaners is in there and we can save 50% - up to $7.50 every month right there. And then there are the fast food places that we use, although those are becoming VERY limited. We don't get much use out of the "fine dining" section because we do so little "fine" dining. But, for us, it is still worth the $25 that we pay for it.

Purchased '07 Entertainment Book this past Saturday (10/21). I figured if I save at least $30 with American Airlines it would be worth it.

What are the airline discounts like, and is Southwest in there?

OP... I could not help but notice the dates that you listed! I am trying also to find good rental prices for Feb. 9-26th! I have the current 2007 Entertainment book and have racked my brain trying to use the coupons/codes/etc. At this point we have two seperate rentals from two companies dividing the time up... it seemed to work out cheaper that way. But one problem we are running into is that many of the coupon codes are blacked out during that time period (even though it does not say the dates on the coupon backs!)! In the long run I have managed to use two of the coupons, but not the best ones and also used codes from Mousesavers, which helped out a lot more than the coupons! My best advice is keep trying! I tried everyday for months until one day I somehow got prices which were far better than any I had previously seen. One through National, the other through Alamo. Good luck - I am sure you will find something - it is just very very time consuming and super frustrating!

Has anyone actually used those car rental coupons? Is it either/or i.e. $25 off OR one car class upgrade, or is it AND? Also, if I already have a reservation using a code (like the Alamo KISS2 code), can I also use a coupon, or is it either/or?

I have never had any problems with using a code and a coupon combined. And most coupons are either a $ off amount or an upgrade, not both. However years ago I did manage to find and use a coupon which allowed both a precentage off and an upgrade - this type of coupon is very seldom though. Hope this helps!

Years ago when I bought my first Entertainment Book I wondered the same thing. As a result after buying the book I kept a sheet of paper and pen with the book and jotted down any savings I had using one of the coupons. I was amazed at how quickly it added up - within the first month I had doubled what the cost of the book was. Some years I have even bought two books to save even more. And if we are planning a week or longer stay anywhere I look into getting the book for that area. When you buy a second book of a different area it is often much cheaper (an incentive to get you to buy more books) and we have saved some big dollars that way doing things that tourists do anyways. Also keep in mind that once you have bought and registered your book you are able to buy these additinal books at great prices and if you have any out of town friends/family members that you buy gifts for they make awesome presents! (The only thing is that you can not get the additional books for the same area as your original book...hope that makes sense?) And don't forget if you are a MyPoints member use the link and you'll also get points!

So there's no combining of coupons? The Ent. Book has a few for each car rental company, but I guess you have to use only one coupon per rental?

I hope I can use a code (like the ones you enter at the online booking stage) with a paper coupon.

Any good restaurant deals in there?

There are restaurant coupons, but I haven't analyzed them in enough depth to figure out of restaurant savings alone are worth getting the book. For me it's worth it cause I'll be using restaurant coupons, Publix coupons, and hopefully airfare and car rental (but it depends what other deals we can get - those might beat the EB).

Does the Entertaiment book just have a Florida version or do they have an Orlando/Kissimee version as well? I haven't researched it out or gone to their website yet, just came across this thread. Thanks!

Hey Amirah95,

Yes, you can purchase an Orlando Entertaiment book 2007. I just saw it on their website-www.entertaiment.com for $32.00. Check with your local bookstore in the travel section or at the check counter. Might be cheaper that way. Through the web you will have to pay shipping cost.

Have you tried this site breezenet.com ? I've used them a number of times, it's been great for comparing offers. You can also add in a discount rate if you have one, and compare that offer as well.
