2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

It usually is PP - Example I paid $1010 for one person for this years member cruise

Don't you have to use pts to pay for one of the reservations?

Does anyone have the list of incentives for buying pts on the cruise. We agreed to buy 250 pts AKV with the free cat 6 cruise thrown in-- but are the other incentives better than what we signed up for? Thanks for the information.

It is per person. I booked catergory 8 for the 07 cruise and it cost me 3566 for my family of 4. Catergory 8 for the 08 cruise for 4 will cost me just about 500 less. I think it is because of the month.

I did not have my camera with me on Tuesday morning for photos of the shuttle launch. Does anyone have any pics of the big screen showing the televised shuttle countdown and launch and then the space shuttle streaking thru the sky off the starboard side? I would be forever grateful for any pictures you would be so kind to share. This was our first DVC Member Cruise and will not be our last, I hope. I will try to be on the phone at 7:00 AM on 11-17-07. But we will actually be on the road to the airport at 7:00 AM back to you know where for Thanksgiving (our son and daughter in law live in Kissimmee -- he's a cast member). They were able to go with us on the DVC cruise and had a blast. Tuesday of the cruise (formal night) was their 2nd anniversary. What fun we all had. Thanks, in advance, for any photos you can share.

Send me a PM with your email address and I can send them on over.

Here's what I have:

Dan&Nan, CONGRATS on the additional points

That is so awesome, we were at Brunch at Palo we got a page from the OC so DH had to go and check on that while I waited then by the time we were done the shuttle was long gone. That would have been nice to have the kids see.

WOW! I dont know where to begin. We got back sunday night around midnight and for me work was at 6:30 and it was a nightmare. My boss likes to back log my work so when I got in work from 10/24 was still not done and thats his way of giving me the screws for having time off. He's going to Mexico this weekend so it's my turn to return the favor.

The trip was wonderful for me and my family and we made alot of friends.I would like to thank Mary and Mark for the pins and everything they did.The saturday get together at the Beach Club was a home Run.

To Cheryl and her mom Maureen, our trip hanging out with both of you was great and we hope it was the same for you.We will see you on our next trip to Disney. We will come visit you and you are welcome to visit us while staying in disney.

Kay,I will get my wife's own screen name on the boards soon.If I only have known i would have booked the 3 day after the DVC cruise because it was a pleasure talking to you and Linda which I bumped into alot on the cruise.Linda thank you for the helpful information.

I cant forget Amanda and Annette for being so nice to my wife at the beach club meet and during the cruise.

Congrats to Nan and Dan for the world series win and also the point add-on.Also Happy Birthday Nan :cake: :bday:

I missed the group photo because of the legends and dinner which was 8:00 and I was late most nights.

I just asked my DH how he would feel if I used the next member cruise as a mother/daughter trip and he just laughed it off. I told him I was serious and he goes fine if I can have a week for "Dad Only" trip. He's a funny one isn't he. I guess you all can add me to the list of Nov 17 dialing.

We have a copy of the pirate night photo as well but it looks like Theresa has it covered.

We'll also be scanning and putting up the group photo but that may have to wait until this weekend as we are both trying to get caught up at work.

I got 4 request and I just sent out the Pirate Group Photo. If anyone else wants it let me know.

Theresa

Hi everyone! The DVC cruise was great!!!! I enjoyed meeting other Dis board members.. Kay, you were very helpful..Mary, thank you for the great pins..Linda, you did a great job with the mini-navigators. I still love how you did the turtles. I am sorry, we did not get a chance to say good bye to everyone. On Wed, just after the group beach photo, I came down with an intestinal bug. I saw the ship MD who quarantined me to our cabin for the remaider of the cruise. I was bummed that I missed saying good bye to all the new people I had met. Also, I missed the Ladies of Broadway night. Post cruise, we met our DD in WDW, but I was too tired to do much park hopping. I plan to see my MD tomorrow as I still feel tired & nauseated. Despite that, I had a great 3 days on the cruise. The highlight of my trip was meeting the people I had "met" on the Dis boards. I hope everyone got home okay & your return to work was not overwhelming. Now, to go thru post trip Disney depression..Oh well, will need to plan our next trip!..Pauline

Pauline - I am so so sorry you got sick - how terrible. Hoping that by the weekend you are 100% better.

I also enjoyed so much meeting everyone. Walking down the hallways and in the Atrium and seeing and talking to those that we knew was awesome.

I am already thinking and keeping my eyes and ears open for gifts for next year.

Tonight I gave glow sticks out to all the gobblins that came around the n/hood.

About 1/2 hour ago I put out about 200 sticks that glowed and someone came by and took all of them at one time. It had to be some big kids 'cause the little ones that came by w/parents just would not do it.

I got in my car and drove around the n/hood and saw a male and female with loads of them in their hands about 2 block away. It had to be those two. And my lights were on and the front blinds were open - I just walked in the TV roomf or a minute and went back and they were gone. Oh well, some people ruin it for others

Hope everyone had a great Halloween

Pauline - so sorry you got sick on the cruise! I hope you are feeling better soon!

I had forgotten to post something that Guest Services did for us while onboard.

Tuesday night I got an email from my husband letting me know the fires in CA had gotten bad and they had evacuated Camp Pendleton. My aunt (who was with us) lives right near Pendleton and was really concerned about her home. My husband had said my uncle needed to know what to pack in case the got evacuated.

We went to Guest Services and asked how to make a ship to shore call from our room. They told us not to worry about it, they would place it for us right there and not to worry about a charge for it.

While my aunt talked to my uncle one of the managers told us that they could arrange transportation from Castaway Cay to the nearest island with an airport and then a flight home if my aunt wanted/needed to get home.

In the end she opted to stay onboard figuring she would be much more comfortable on a nice Disney ship than in a shelter. On Wednesday we heard from Guest Services again, they checked in to see if she wanted to make another call home and if there was anything else they could do for her. Their concern was so nice and really made her feel much more at ease knowing she could get a hold of my uncle if she needed to.

Thursday was a much better day, the Pendleton fire was contained and they found out they would not need to evacuate.

Pauline - so sorry to hear you were sick. Did you have trip insurance? If so contact your carrier. One of the DIS members on our May '06 cruise missed her last day of the cruise for the same reason and got a parital settlement because of it. Hope you feel better soon.

Kristen - great to hear that Guest Services was so accomodating and even better to hear that you Aunt didn't have to go home.
