I received the 2007-2008 DVC Planner in the mail today!!!!!!

I've only been a DVC member since 2005, but I have to say this is the best planner I've received so far.

It commemorates the 15th Anniversary of the Disney Vacation Club.

Not only is the planner itself awesome (it's 72 pages long and includes incredible pictures from the DVC resorts and the parks throughout the planner), but they also included a Disney Vacation Club 15th Anniversary Commemorative Giclee Print. Also the box that it comes in has a little tab on it that when you pull it, little candles come out and also a little Mickey and Minnie come out wearing little party hats and holding the 15th anniversary sign. DVC definitely went all out with this one.

And better yet, the points didn't change for 2008!!! How awesome it that??!!!

This just made my day. I don't know how many of you have gotten yours yet, but just you wait. You won't be disappointed. You'll know when you've gotten yours because it came in this huge box. It really felt like I was receiving an anniversary present.

Between this and the new Disney Planning DVD I just ordered, I am all pumped up for my upcoming trip to the "World" for this Halloween!!!

MNSSHP & Food and Wine Festival here I come!!!!

Woo-Hoo!!!!!!

If you go to the DVC Misc. Forum, there is a very long thread about who has gotten them and who hasn't. Glad yours arrived, ours hasn't.

Well, you just made my day. We haven't gotten ours, but others have mentioned to be sure to take the time to enjoy opening the box. Well, now I know why!!!

Bobbi :goodvibes

PS.If getting a box/planner is so much fun, I strongly suggest going on a Members Cruise.

We have only been on the one last year, but each night when you returned to your room, there were goodies! Prints, pins, clocks, baskets, cute Mickeys dressed as pirates. During the day there were guest speakers: Jim Lewis, Imagineers, an archivist, Art Linkletter was there. Most of all, it was a chance to meet hundreds of people who, like you, enjoy things that are Disney and are members of DVC.

The cost was on the high side, whether you used points or cash, but DH and I enjoyed it so much that we do hope to go on another one. Last year was the 2nd one and it was near Labor Day. This October (22nd) will be the 3rd, maybe they will announce the next one on this years cruise, that's what they did last year. Some of the Disers will have been on all 3. There's a thread on the cruise board all about the Members Cruise.

We enjoy cruising and have been on different cruise lines. We both think that as far as Disney's Cruise line goes, for us, the members cruise was more fun than the regular Disney Cruise we were on. Just the people and special events made it worthwhile for us.

I hope you can go on one, if you would like to. It's a phone call derby!! The ship usually fills up in one high pressure Saturday call in day. We didn't try for this year, other plans, it's my Aunts 80th birthday, and we weren't members when the first was held.

I received mine a couple of days ago it also included a canvas print celebrating the 15 year of the DVC!!! :goodvibes

Points will never change, they will remain the same, the only thing that changes is the dates for the holidays. Easter & Christmas will always be holiday season. The only points that change each year will be for the DCL.

Still waiting here for the planner/print popcorn:: :rolleyes1

I thought I saw a minor change in a 1brm in BCV I believe- and it was a decrease of 1 point in one of the seasons. I don't have my books with me to check...did anyone else notice this...or am I loosing it again  .

But I must say that planner was beautiful...I also liked the print too. :cheer2:

The balance will remain the same in that the number of points for a "unit" for a year will never change. But a given time of year could change. And since a unit is a collection of rooms, it's theoretically possible but VERY unlikely, that a given room type could actually change overall. I think it should be expected that we will eventually see a rebalancing.

What she said! i am sad that this years cruise was not in the value season, so there was no way we could make it work.

But I am hoping this becomes an annual event!

It was soo much fun!

Since the 1st two weeks in December seem to be a "peak" time for DVC members, I am expecting to see a change there at some point.
