ROSEMARY!

I've been watchign the webcast all weekend and I have to say Stephanie's team looked AMAZING! Congrats to them! That dance is HOT! I think Celebrity's Junior 5 was robbed due to the rule that only 3 American teams can advance....they were fierce!!!

I am back from Worlds!! All I can say is AMAZING talent in one area!!! Each and every team had something to offer!! However, World Cup Shooting Stars and Top Gun Coed nearly made me pee my pants!!! My jaw was on the floor!! California Allstars Lg Coed too!!

I was sooooooooo proud of Stephanie!!! Her stunting was beautiful!! So solid!! Her team was 7th after day one but finished 9th. A flyer slipped from a cradle position and hit the ground!! UGH!! simple mistake but a costly one! They were really shooting for 5th or 6th!!

The New England teams did well. I was a little disappointed in East Elite. I was really excited to see them especially sm sr 5 as that was Stephanies old team. I had heard they were favored to win. Not even sure where they placed but not in the top 10!! They were not as clean as they normally are and were shaky. Maybe the pressure got to them. It was nice to see some cheer moms I havent seen in a while though. Their lg senior 5 did not make it to finals (some mom's told me it was expected!). They looked good but did not have the level 5 skills to be contenders. A few mom's were disappointed and would rather not go back to Worlds next year if in the same level. It is not a cheap trip!!!

Spirit Central and Celebrity sm sr 5 looked good. Celebrity finished 10th and I heard Spirit Central got 11th!! Congratulations to both of them.

Stephanie came over to OKW both Sat and Sun to spend the day at the pool with us. Between the heat and the walking and cheering her ankle was quite swollen!! We kept ice on it, massaged it and gave her motrin!!

Brenda, is there any way you get me a link to Stephanies team? I would appreciate it!!!

Well, now that the 2007-2008 season is over.............we welcome the 2008-2009 season!!! WE need to start a new thread!!!

Rosemary...I can't send you the link because it's the on Demand video. You need a username and password. I'm not sure if you can still order it..it was $9.99. http://iasfworlds.org/index2.php I didn't even see the girl fall from the cradle! I'll have to go back and watch!

I can't even imagine watching California All Stars and Top Gun in person!!! I almost peed my pants watching the video LOL! I've seen World Cup live and they are amazing!

Hey before we start a new thread, send me some good thoughts as DD#1 is starting the process of trying out for next year's HS team. Clinics tonight and tomorrow and Thursday with tryouts next Tuesday. She is a junior so can check JV or varsity on her sheet. Tons of girls are trying out. She is putting varsity only for football, but is willing to cheer JV for basketball. I hope she makes both varsity though; I'm sick of JV. She can't do the tumbling but was trained last year to be the best "base" the JV team has, and is their best dancer and has the best volume and great facials and spirit.
Robin M.

Sending some pixie dust your daughter's way Robin!! Tumbling is only a small portion of the scoresheet!!! Sounds like your DD would be a great addition to a Varsity team!!! Basing is so important. Without that you can't have confident flyers!!

Good luck!!!

Thanks Brenda......maybe I will order the coverage!!!

Here is a link to Stephanies team at Worlds 2008. This is Day 2 where the flyer was dropped from the cradle which caused them to go from 7th to 9th!! I am still quite proud after the tough year she had with her ankle injury. Stephanie is on the right in the back, flying!!!

Now she is taking one month off to rest, do therapy with the Graston technique to break up the scar tissue in the ankle (cankle as she calls it) and hope she will be able to return to 100%!!

I had the extreme pleasure of watching Brenda's daughter Ry's cheer video!!! Her Mini 2 team is AMAZING!! I wish her gym would allow her to post it publicly for all of you to see!! They will be a team to watch in the future!!!

Thanks Brenda for letting me see that video!! Kudos to your gym, coaches, owners and most importantly your little cheer princess!!! Go Ry!!!

Thanks Kristie!!! You saw her in Atlanta with the boot on her ankle!!! I was soooo proud of her. Pulling that overstretch where all the weight is on the ankle.

One month of rest then slowly back to running tumbling!! She is afraid she will have lost her double full but I think she will be fine as long as she nurses the ankle!!

Thanks for the compliment!!

This division was fierce to say the least. Top Gun Unlimited Coed and California Allstars unlimited Coed were just totally AMAZING to say the least!!!

Here is a link where you can pull up videos of all the teams that placed at Worlds.

Teams to watch are:

Stingrays Orange in Sm Sr: The girls were so neat, clean and skilled. I had the pleasure of being around them at the Magic Kingdom. No cocky at all. A bunch of nice young ladies!! Very polite.

World Cup Shooting Stars in Lg Sr and CEA in Lg Sr: Both fantastic!!! Watch those tick tocks in CEA!! OMG. Shooting Stars had the crowd on their feet. So much energy.

Top Gun and California Allstars in Unlimited Coed!!! OMG!!!!! AMAZING (did I already say that!! LOL!!). All teams in this dvision were amazing but those 2 just blew my socks off.............I almost peed my pants!!! My jaw was on my lap!!

Spirit of Texas in Limited Coed...........super duper clean!! Gotta love them!!!

Future World champs: Ry's team!!!!! Sparks!!!

Ha! Ha! Ha! Rosemary :) Like I said it will be awesome to see them in another couple years!~

I agree with all the comments about the World's teams! I just wish I was there to see them in person!!!

Well, dd made a decision about college. She opted for the school she likes best, even though she didn't make the cheer team. She'll try again in the fall...but I suspecct her cheerleading career is over, and that's making me very sad.

I think I would be sad as well but in the long run, education is more important!!! (yes, I hate to admit it!!! ).

I wish the best for your DD. Maybe she can take some tumbling classes over the next year to keep her skills, continue to condition and give it a try again for next season!!

Maybe there's an all-star gym near the college she chose and she could do an open team?

I am sure it would be sad to see the end to Cheer but think this is just the beginning of the rest of her awesome life!!!:thumbsup2

I know I would be sad also!! I thought this year my DD would maybe take a year off but she just informed me that she wants to cheer another year!!! I have to admit that for a brief moment I did see many trips to Disney in my head when I thought of all the money I would save NOT cheering!!! OHWELL hopefully we will do a competition in Disney this year!!!!
