I'm already thinking about a May-June 2006 trip. Next year school is out the Friday before Memorial Day. My two choices are to go the week of Memorial Day which puts us into the first weekend in June or to go the second week of June. Did anyone attend this year? Does it work to avoid the park where the big meet is? We want to go back for a Star Wars Weekend, so these 2 weeks are my only choices.

we were just there may 27 - june 6--- we did not have issues at all. You can avoid there park for the day--but be advised that they may still be in other parks. If that topic offends you I would go the 2nd. We have been 2 years in a row at this time and have had no issues.

We were there during Gay days last year. There is a website (gaydays.???) that will list which park there are meets in on which days. We avoided those parks on those days. We found that by doing this, being at the parks early and not staying really late, and NOT looking for something to object to- we were fine. :)

I did see one PDA between two gay men I was uncomfortable with (french kissing on Main Street  ) but to tell you the truth, the fact that it was two men was not the part that bothered me. My kids didn't notice much, although gay couples holding hands or even kissing would not surprise them or be something they would find unusual. My daughter has a good friend that has two Mommies and my son also has a friend that is living in a gay household.

DH and I noticed some cross dressing but it went right over our kids heads. Either that or they did not find it odd.

We loved Star Wars weekends and so did the kids. Big fun! Go and have fun but bring an umbrella :umbrella: we got soaked.

Check both gaydays.com and gayday.com to keep up with the plans for next year.

The two sites offer different schedules, host hotels and days to meet in the different parks.

If it bothers or concerns you in any way you would do well to plan a visit for a different time. There are many, many activities and you are going to see gay folk at all the parks, DTD and other local areas.

And yes, you are going to see PDA just as you will with the non-gay sector.
