"2006" on Dumbo Pin Set

A friend has a Dumbo Pin Set (purchased at TDS) and said that at the top it says 2006... can anyone tell me the significance of 2006?

I haven't seen the set and was told this is NOT in pencil like a numbered set -- it is part of the design/printing at the top.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!
