Just my:

We all noticed the b.o. odor on the Monorail last time in Disney and I thought their cleaning crew was slacking! The smell truly was barn-like. Wait till I tell my husband about this thread!

OK, an update and an opinion.

Just got a call from the manager from Si-Fi.
She apologized, got the waiters name and was very very very professional.

My letter accomplished one of my points.

I got the attention of a Disney manager, and hopefully things will improve for future guests!

She did mention the Frisbee's have been taken away from the meals now. I guess the dining plan may have something to do with this.

While I had her on the phone, I ASKED HER POINT BLANK about the monorail smell. I could "Hear" Her blush on the phone when she said, yeah they do smell.

She said she had a FULL copy of my letter I sent and that letters like that get circulated around to all the Management staff. My letter came to her from some VP at Disney. SO the EXCELLENT news is that its being circulated and that they ARE concerned.

NOW...on to the folk that hijacked my thread discussing what the DEFINITION of "is" is.

I hate that women get raped. It sucks beyond my comprehension. In my book women should be adored and worshiped, not abused.

But if ALL you saw in my post was the word rape and were offended...I can’t help you….you missed the entire point of the post. It’s a "Figure of speech". I type in my native southern tongue. Rape is used as a Figure of Speech in these parts to explain a raw deal. Like it or not, its just the way it is.
I had my wallet stolen once, do I get freaked out when someone uses the words "ripped off", "Cheated" or "Stolen". No. A bad and loose comparison, I know.

If you are overly sensitive to certain words due to personal experience, I’d seriously reconsider using the web, Internet or forums if I were you.

As for those that chose to throw stones at me for the "Cheer up the Cast Member" thoughts. You guys really need to pick another fight. I never said I was going down there doing my worst Sam Kennison Verbally abusing rants on these CM's. I never said I was going down there kicking their shins and calling them names. NOPE not once. I just expect a cast member who runs me over with a garbage cart to apologize and say sorry. I expect a cast member who is serving me food to be pleasant.
As for those that think I am out of my mind for expecting Disney to be superior...they are the BIGGEST boasters of "Legendary Customer Service" training. Someone used the term "Entitlement" towards me in a derogatory way. Who ever that was does not have a grip on what the Hospitality business is all about.
Am I entitled? Your darn tootin!! I have a zillion other choices, they woo us to go down there...they are, by design, to be the best of the best, to astound you, to make you feel you spent TOO much money but still feel like...somehow...in a bizarre way...you cheated them, cuz you had a life changing experience.

I am a southen boy. My momma taught me manners and I do just that. I say please, thank you and excuse me...always! But some forum members here got a whacked out view on my complaints and how the Hospitality business works.

Someone needs to Webster a definition of Hospitality for these folks that feel I am wrong for complaining.

...off my soap box.

Dennis

To the original OP of this post...Happy to hear that you got a response and an apology from Disney!

Again, I must defend this OP...I too am from the south and yes we use that word as an expression of speech. Never once have I, being a woman, taken offense to someone saying that word in the way it was used. Now, if he had said that he wanted to R someone then I would be offended. It amuses me that so many people are SO sensitive to how another person chooses to use words. May I remind us all that we are entitled to "free speech" according to OUR Nation's Ammendment's. After all is that not why we all choose to remain US citizen's? FREEDOM! Kudos to the OP...those that do not want to be offended should definitely stay OFF public forums. There is no censorship on them and nor should there be!

I agreed with the OP's complaints but I did not agree with people saying that rape was an acceptable metaphor. This is not a down south board so its easy to see how people may think that comparing something to rape is not common practice(although other posters have disagreed with the notion that in the south it is acceptable common practice)

Anyway First amendment may give you the right to say anything you want but it does not mean that you won't have to face consequences just ask Steve Lyons(for you baseball fans out there)

I'm sorry that you had negative experiences at WDW and glad that you got a response from at least one manager.

I hope that any future trips go better for you.

I believe that this thread is no longer a helpful planning tool, so I am going to close it.

Going for my thesaurus now.

Katholyn
