I am well and truely miffed

Our flights have been put back from 9.30am to 2pm!!!!! which means we wont get into sanford till 6pm, this just wasnt what we wanted we have a infant and a disabeled child travelling with us (she gets very agitated ) plus we have already booked taxis and hotels! we are going to be stuck in the airport for hours.

I am really disapointed, I called to ask if I could change flights and got a no, we dont even go for 16 months

sorry i needed a rant

I'm afraid a change of time isn't seen as a significant alteration, they'd have to change day flight to night for that, and so you won't usually have the right to a refund of deposit if you cancel. Charter flight times are usually provisional until much nearer the date. I know you are annoyed but since you have so long until your holiday, changing taxis and hotels isn't really going to be too difficult.

...... and looking on the bright side, a 9.30 am departure would have meant being at the airport by 6.30 - 7.30 am so up and ready at the crack of dawn. This way at least you get a civilised start to the (long) day :sunny:

the changing of hotel times will be costing us £80 and the taxi will not refund anything, so its a very expensive alteration

Surely, any decent taxi/hotel will change the booking for a small fee. If not then I guess the moral is don't book the extra like taxis etc as early, as 16 months is a long way off. Hope you manage to sort it all out.

We booked our flight last July for travelling out this July and we are on our third flight change so you never know you might get changed again for the better.

before we were changed this time we were going out on a 09.00 flight but having a DS I was actually in panic mode as this was going to be a struggle so looked into changing times etc. However, I put it to the back of my head as it was a long way away and now we have only 8 wks to go and they have been changed again . now leaving at 11 which is ideal.

So try and not worry to much just now. Like the previous thread feel at this early stage the taxi firm should be more accommodating towards you.

Why do you need to change hotel time's?

I don't see why you need a refund from the taxi? Can you not just change the time it pick's you up.

It's only 4 hour's so all these should be changeable. At least it's not a day.

I sympathise and understand your frustrations, but like others I can't understand why it should prove a problem with hotels or taxis. With the hotel, instead of checking out at 5.00 AM you'll still need to be out of the hotel room by 10.00 AM ( at the latest) to get to the airport in plenty of time, that isn't going to incur any extra costs. For a 2.00 PM flight you'll need to be checking in by about 11.00.
As far as the taxi is concerned I would be certain that any business that wants to work without getting itself a terrible name is going to either alter the pick up time, after all this is 16 months away, or give you a full refund. IF they don't I would suggest you offer them the option of you putting their name in the papers and on the internet for their inflexibility. It's simply not worth their reputation to be inflexible over such an issue. Perhaps they need to have it explained to them again when you're a little calmer, more patient and not as agitated as you obviously are at the moment. As an aside, why on earth would you book and pay for a taxi 16 months in advance of your trip ??

I'm sure the hotel won't mind altering your times, you just need to explain the situation. As for taxi's - I've never known a taxi firm to pass up a fare at anytime. I have to admit I'm a bit confused as to why you would book a taxi that far in advance - what if the taxi firm went out of business? You would then have to rebook with someone else.

Its no use worrying yourself to death - half an hour in a dark room will give you a clear head - and a alternative solution.

we have to book taxis so far in frount due to jordans wheelchair, alot of taxis dont have the ability to have a child sitting in a upright child size chair on the journey

Fair point but you still should be able to change the time's free of charge. It is only after all a few hour's.

Are you far from the airport.? do you have a special adapted car yourself so maybe a family member could take you?

we are in the same situation. we are going to book a taxi but my friend came up with the idea that my husband could take DS in our adapted car then come back up and the friend will take my husband back to the airport. Depend though how far away you are from the airport.
