2006 Fall Break Question

In my county (in middle Tn) the public schools are the first two weeks of October. There are a few privates that are the last week of September and first week of October. These are all year round schedules. The traditional schedules have the first week of October.

There was a thread asking this same question a month or so ago but it was a poll. I was going to post the link for you but couldn't get the search to work. If you want to search, it was titled something like "If you're going to WDW for fall break, what are your dates". Good luck! :)

we went the last week of October last year. The crowds were lighter compared to our trip in April. You said you went Columbus Day weekend, so it was it was more people having off than fall break for kids. We are going again this October. F & W and MNSSHP are also starting to get very popular so October is getting busier.

What is this Fall Break?? I haven't been in school for many years and this is news to me!!
Boy, kids now days get all kinds of breaks! So when do we adults get breaks?
:confused3

Simply put, it's "Spring Break" in the Fall, LOL

Many schools (mainly in the South, but the trend is spreading) have switched to a modified school calendar. Some are true year-round schools, which means a school is in session a set amount of weeks and off a set amount of weeks. Others schools start in early August and have a break in September or October. There are many reasons for this type of calendar. In our school district, the administration felt there was an improvement in test scores and overall attitude if several short breaks are given throughout the year vs. a longer summer vacation. We finished up on May 26 and our first day back in August 2.

pirate: Thanks for all of the replies. I guess we should be all set for the last week in October. We don't have any fall breaks in New England. This was something I discovered last year during our Columbus Day week WD trip. We're looking forward to another MNSSHP. :thumbsup2
