So any reports from the weekend Disney group yet??? I need to live vicariously through them somehow :):cool1:

Okay here is a brief report:
Went to AK, Got there at 3:45 headed in to the Safari and got caught by the parade. The parade was only 1/2 an hour, it was very good to watch.
We headed on to the Safari, it had no line. You could tell it was almost closing time as not as much of the animals were in view. We did see the grey rhinos and the Lion perched on his rock. After the Safari it was time to head down to Rainforest.

Note if you go to Rainforest it was COLD!! We met up with Gail, Carol, Diana and the Girls and Jeff. The girls were getting pressed pennies.
We went to the podium and then got in line to be seated. We talked and then ordered. The girls got colored icee's which were huge but they both drank a lot. The Safari club guy came to the table and explained the benefits of joining the club. (You can go to http://www.rainforestcafe.com/ and click on Ozzie the monkey - It is $15 for a lifetime membership)
We also found out that by next year there is going to be a TREX restaurant at downtown disney and the Safari club will get you priority access into that.

The food came after - it was better then I remembered which was at least 6 yrs ago. After dinner we left. Gail has pictures. We didn't get a group picture.

I'll be there next Sunday Morning for the Haunted Mansion Preview.

Sounds fun!

I wish I was there too! :upsidedow

I'm back!

What a fast trip, but it was fun to do.

I left here Thursday afternoon and went to my nephew's house, his wife dropped me off at the airport and kept my car at their house.

Spirit moved my seat from row 9 to an empty row 3. I carried my luggage on since I just had a small suitcase - boy that sure is alot quicker than having to go to baggage pick up. I used ME to get to SSR. My room was in Congress Park across from Pleasure Island. The resort was pretty empty. I dropped off my stuff and headed over to DTD to renew my AP. As I was walking past the Art Store I ran into "Ducky" Williams & George. I talked with them for a bit and they were telling me about the transatlantic cruise that they just were on.

Friday morning I headed to MK. I was there at 9 AM for the opening. The park was empty. I walked on to Space Mountain and Splash Mountain - I like this time of year! Carol drove down Friday afternoon to stay for the weekend.

Saturday we went to a scrapbook store Mouse Memories. Nice store.

Sunday we met up with Diana and the girls at AK. We watched the parade - it was a first for Diana and I. A very cute parade. We then headed over to Rainforest, did some shopping. Found Jeff there waiting for us, then Cheryl and Todd showed up so we checked in for dinner. It was a nice meal, but the restaurant was freezing :cold:. It was nice seeing everyone. I took pictures of everyone at the table, when I find my camera I'll post the pictures.

I was up at 4 AM this morning, showered, pack my suitcase and walked to the front to catch the ME bus for 5 AM. Quick drive to the airport and a smooth flight home. It's a bit chilly here in Michigan especially since we were drenched in sweat just sitting out watching the parade the day before. Good thing I bought a sweatshirt, while waiting for my niece to pick me up I dug it out of my suitcase to wear.

I need to go read my e-mail to see if Spirit sent me any more cheap fare e-mails :rolleyes1

Have a ball Gail!!
Soak up as much sun as you can get cause ya know that winter is right around the corner for us!

Oh, I'm sure the cold weather is closer than we care for it to be, and Diana had the nerve to complain on Sunday that it was HOT. How soon she forgot about the nasty weather we will have to face in a few months ;)

Have fun this weekend everyone! Diana I LOVE your picture in your signature.

Maui was wonderful! Very relaxing!!! I have to say I am not sure I would travel to Hawaii in August again. Very hot and even humid. DH and I ended up with a couple of lifetime souveniers! We both got new tattoos while we were over in Maui and mine is a little bit of Disney mixed in with a little Maui! I will see if DH can help me post a photo this weekend.

Take care everyone!

Welcome Back Roxann. Can't wait to see the picture of the tattoo.

Hi everyone...How's everyone doing? I have been a little crazy lately, But a big chunk is now over, and I can start to relax a little. Our office has successfully moved, seen 2 days worth the patients, and been successful!!! No broken equipment, no mishaps, just a few lost patients. Now I just have to finish packing for our cruise.

OK...Let me vent a little about AirTran, Don't ever fly with them. We had a nonstop flight that was booked in May for Sept. 14 at 6pm. Figured the kids could get a full day school, I could work most of the day, and then we head over to the airport. Well, we got an email in July that they adjusted our flight time to 3:30pm, so we said, ok, the kids will go half a day, I will work until 1, and so on. Well then we received another email about 2 weeks later saying the flight had been changed again to 3pm. I thought oh well its only 30 min, we will adjust our plans easily with this. Well, yesterday, I decided that I should make sure our flight time was still the same, I go to Airtran's site, and log in, and look at the flight, and guess what, they moved our flight again, to 12:30. I was furious, now we wasted the whole day, we land at 4pm, we will be driving in rush hour traffic to the port. I said no way, and looked for another nonstop flight earlier in the day, they have one at 8am, so I called Airtran, and asked for the 8am flight due to them changing our flight times so many times, the girl I spoke with was very helpful, and was able to get us on that flight at no charge, and reassign our seats. So now we are going down almost a full day earlier than we planned. But we wont be rushing! I'm just happy that they were able to get us on the earlier flight at no charge.

Well, its Saturday, I hope that everyone has a great weekend!

That happened to us one time with a flight with Spirit. Unfortunately the 6 PM flight home got moved to 11 AM. Talk about being unhappy!

Glad it worked out for you - don't you hate it when you are forced to spend more time at the World :woohoo:

Thanks for the trip reports, Gail and Cheryl.

Wish I could take a quick trip like that one day. Even a quick trip would be better than no trip at all!::yes::

Next time, I'm driving to Detroit to join you! :dance3: After all, I have points to use before we probably end up selling out of DVC.

It sounds like you had a great time.

Yeah, Diana had the nerve to comment to me on the phone the other day about how hot it was. I told her don't even start with that!

Sounds like a fun time - Gail and Cheryl - wish I had still been around but "real life" was calling me home. It's been a crazy ride since I got home but I will concentrate on my next trip away. Glad you had fun - isn't it nice to "run away to WDW" Gail?

When I booked it, John told me to call you and see if you could drive here and fly down from here. Hey, it's only a 5 hour drive :rotfl: Now that would have been one crazy trip, and you would have had to share the couch with Carol :rotfl2:

Running away to WDW is always fun.

So, how many hours until your next trip???
