For those of us without passports, we still don't need them for this cruise, correct? The requirement was changed to 1/1/07......right????

Does anyone know for certain???

I'm still catching up on the posts so someone else may already responded. When we arrived at Port Everglades after SSMC05 we were told we would need a passport for any cruise travel after 12/31/05. I know we need to get them. Annmarie

I seriously don't think I've ever been that hot in my entire life! I start sweating even thinking about sitting there outside Cirque du Soliel! :earseek:

I'm going to the scrapbooking event at the Contemporary at the end of August and I'm still wondering what I was thinking booking a trip at that time. I'm going without the kids, so that will make it a lot easier.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I really enjoyed MH, but next time we should have it on the Sun!! I think it would be cooler! :teeth:

Mary, that was you!!! :upsidedow

Yes Cindy dear - that was me. :rotfl2:

I did like the one shot Amy (I think) got of Mark, Cheryl and I while waiting for dinner with Jim Lewis. I think I looked pretty nice in that photo. :)

Oh, Cindy, what are the chances o having a good-ole-animal-house-food-fight????? Maybe set up a Dis-Toga-Party for the sail-away partty....Or even biting contest between Diana and Ian!!!!!

David you must have DCL confused with Carnival. Nothing but first class for this group. Dinner is refined and quiet. Especially when you are at the shy table. :rotfl:

My opinon about the member crusie and any member event.
DVC will NEVER be able to please everone.
There will always be someone complaining about timong, discouts, costs ..
All kinds of things.
We all knew the crusie was coming. We got the invation in themail. we got email.. It wanst a suprise.
I know that there are some things DVC will plan that I will have to pass on/ Will it be Jim Lewis's fault??
I think its sour grapes/
Most of the whiners were probably not planning on booking this crusie anyway.

Debbie - I agree 100%

Speaking of the picture cd that Chris put together for us - I was looking at it today and saw a picture that Mark and Mary took at Key West with a rainbow. You should have submitted that picture. I saw a picture just like Mark and Mary's in the Vacation Magic Magazine. It was the winning photo for the photo contest that DVC ran.

From the DCL site:
New Passport Regulations from the U.S. Government
Proposed federal regulations would require all cruise travelers to the Caribbean (including The Bahamas) and Mexico to have valid passports when entering or returning to the United States on or after December 31, 2006. Therefore, guests who are booked on sailings on or after December 28, 2006 need to obtain a passport for each member of their family and provide us with the passport number at least 75 days prior to vacation commencement.

Benefits of Having a Passport
If you don't already have a passport, now is a good time to apply for one! There are many benefits to having a passport:

· No more juggling birth certificates and driver's licenses! A passport is a single document that provides photo identification, as well as proof of citizenship.

· The convenience of not traveling with original birth certificates. You'll no longer have to worry about losing or damaging these precious documents.

· Expedited entry into the United States for U.S. citizens and legitimate foreign visitors.

For Guests 16 years of age or older, a passport is valid for 10 years, and passports for Guests 15 years of age or younger are valid for 5 years -- so there's plenty of time to use your passport again and again when you sail with Disney Cruise Line®.

How to Get a Passport
Please visit the U.S. Department of State website or call the U.S. National Passport Information Center at 877-4US

From the State Department website
New Requirements for Travelers Between the United States and the Western Hemisphere

The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 requires that by January 1, 2008, travelers to and from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Panama, Mexico and Canada have a passport or other secure, accepted document to enter or re-enter the United States. In order to facilitate the implementation of this requirement, the Administration is proposing to complete it in phases following a proposed timeline, which will be published in the Federal Register in the near future.

This is a change from prior travel requirements and will affect all United States citizens entering the United States from countries within the Western Hemisphere who do not currently possess valid passports. This new requirement will also affect certain foreign nationals who currently are not required to present a passport to travel to the United States. Most Canadian citizens, citizens of the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, and to a lesser degree, Mexican citizens will be affected by the implementation of this requirement.

If I hadn't been able to book the cruise, I would have saved a lot of money as we booked on cash. :)

Seriously, we would have been bummed but we would have just planned on trying again next time. :teeth:

Really - I would have thought it would have been more DVC related. Did you recognize the name of the winner? It would be great if it was a DISer.

Cindy - I thought the same thing and wondered if by chance I was confusing our contest with another contest DVC ran. It was a bit disappointing to me, but hey - great photo!
