I want to book a group cruise for March of 2006, does anyone know when the dates for that time will be released? My husband, son and myself have taken the 4 night cruise back in 2001 and now we have several friends that all want to go so we thought we would fo the group thing. I guess I will just call the cruise line and get the quote myself, but I did not want to call today considering all the storm issues that are dealing with. Anyone booked group before with Disney cruise lines? should I book myself or use a travel agenr? Any advice? Thanks !

CM I spoke to several weeks ago said most likely 2006 dates will be opened at the end of the year. HTH

Actually, when I booked onboard I was told that the 2006 dates should be out in a few weeks. We booked a Dec 2005 Western Caribbean cruise with the intention of moving it to 2006. I am hopeful that the 2006 dates will be released very soon.

When you book onboard...but are wanting to change your dates...to ones that are not out yet...like the 2006 dates...do you have to pay the $89pp fee to change?

We were thinking of maybe rebooking on board but would like to do early 2006...by the looks of it to get the onboard booking discount we would need to book for 2005 then change when the new dates came out. But if you have to pay $89pp how much do you really save???

Scrapperjill, no, you don't have to pay the $89 fee. We booked onboard over Christmas for another Christmas cruise in 2005. The best price we could all come up with (since the 2005 dates were not out at that time) was to book for Easter break 2004, and then move the dates. We didn't have to pay the fee, and still retained the 10% discount and onboard credits.

I think DCL is asking people not to call for reservations until Wednesday due to all the folks on cruises affected by Hurricane Frances. That would probably apply to travel agents, too.

:D :bounce: :Pinkbounc :D We are going on the Nov 14 cruise and also thinking about booking a 7 day in Nov 2006, what discount do you get while booking on the ship? Can this easily be transferred to our TA?

Thank you

I didn't know DCL charged a fee to change a date. When did this happen? You can get a full refund up to 60 days prior to sailing right? So couldn't you cancel and then book a new cruise without penalty?

When we cruised in June, we rebooked back-to-back cruises. We are looking to cruise in the summer of 2006. Obviously, the dates aren't open so Danielle booked us in December 2005 and when the dates open for 2006, we'll change our booking. As for rebooking onboard, you get a 10% discount for the 7-day cruises and a $200 per stateroom credit. Yes, you can transfer your booking to your TA when you get home. HTH

Now would be a great time to bring out the dates and rates, as they could use our deposit money for the clean-up on C.C. let them out will ya DCL.

No fee...that's good to know. It wouldn't make much sence to charge a fee...to change to dates that arn't out yet...but I had to ask. We were schedulled to go on a wish trip for our daughter to WDW then DCL...but due to hurricane frances the WDW portion was cancled...we were told inorder to keep the two together we would have to pay a $89pp fee to change the cruise dates. Which meant...if we didn't keep the two toghther we would have to pay for airfair round trip on one portion...since the wish foundation will only pay for air fair round trip one time for the family. I had to ask if the fee was for any date changes or just ones like ours.

Tooty Jane~ I had not thought about locking in the best rate and changing the date for later! What a good idea!

What if we found a rate through a TA and showed it to the person booking on the ship and they were able to match it (and get the shipboard credit) and then once booked we transferred to a different TA (for more shipboard credit) and then when the rates came out we were waiting for changed the dates then? Would that work? How does it work if you are changing dates like from October to Christmas time?
