Lynn woke up at 4:30 and realized she needed to be at 5:00, a 14 hour day for her, at least we got to say Hi.

Just two hours for me tomorrow, and that’s all right by me, the last two were a bugger. Just glad to be on vacation, knowing I was going on vacation there was an incident the guys did not want to tell me about, but it is dealt with and such is life.

It is Cinco de Mayo, anniversary of the Battle of Puebla.

I vote for two character breakfasts, then again any meal that one of this group (self included) is at is a character breakfast.

So, did anyone do anything special for Cinco de Mayo??

We love this, although I could eat Mexican food everyday.

So, I made a special meal with the help of foodtv.com..lol.

Started with Watermelon margharitas, guac/salsa and chips.
On to mexican black bean soup garnished with bacon, sourcream, green onions and cilantro.
Next..Pork and chicken fajitas.
Desert...Grilled pears with a mexican vanilla/caramel sauce over ice cream.

It all came out great.

Bob is off to poker night with the guys. All I told him was...
big money, big money..lol, to cover the spa reservations we just made.

I've got my luggage tags for Disneyworld. I've got my documents awhile back. Just got my dress in the mail for my lumpy body to dress up in. Waiting on the mail for a few scrapbooking things to put in my scrapbook exchange bag.The hint is pirate and Disney stuff. I got the reservations made for the fantasmic dessert 1030 show on the 29th. I'm going to be tired when I get home and have to go to work on my birthday the 31st. Haven't started packing yet and need one more trip to the store to pickup a few things including a battery for my camera. The cruise line called today about transportation at the San Padro port but thanks to my TA that is all taken care of. Take care and I'll see you and Mickey soon.

Hadn't thought about two jackpots...can you imagine what the jackpot will be if there is only one???

Most likely will be a single snowball jackpot. We've been on a 16 night cruise and it didn't get awarded until the last game on the last day. Talk about excitement... I think it was upwards of $5k! Not a bad way to spend your last afternoon at sea.... certainly more exciting than having to pack your bags and think about returning to reality!

Deal of the DayHi Guys,

Here is a good one...

We had been talking about going to Miami at Christmas and spend time with my brother & wife. Told mom last night that I made internet reservations at Downtown Disney Holiday Inn instead, I would treat for the rooms and the guys could come up from Miami. I told her I reserved 3 rooms for 118. She did not seem very impressed until I explained that is was $ 1.18 a night. OK now she likes this idea.
No one really knows why the rates were wacky, they actually had rates as low as 0.53 cents a night. Of course the rates are not longer available.

Holiday INN LBV said they will honor the internet rate, we will see what happens. So now hopefully we are able to go in December...

Him: Fortunatley, there was a message on our machine from the nextdoor neighbors. I guess the guy went next door for a signature, so Vicki had our docs. I went over there to get them already.

Me: You're an *******. You could have just told me that in the first place.

I've been laughing for 5 minutes. Eric is my IDOL!!!!

Yes, I know how much they make out of school...I have a bachelors degree and still probably make less....(went to Umass Amherst- out your way).

I laugh....I can save your life- but I can't clean your teeth! Please don't take this that I think that I'm better than a hygenist- because I really don't. I just feel it shows how nurses are undervalued- and so is health in America.

I know I could make more money working in other fields- like computers...which I am interested in. HOWEVER- you can't do everything for money and nurse is VERY rewarding.....you get to be with people in their most intimate moments-birth, death, and sickness. I love to see people get better and go home- and know that I had a part in it. It's hard to explain.

However, if I had to be honest- part of the reason I am going to grad school is money....and more autonomy.

It's a crime (no offense to peter's Jen) that a dental hygenist makes more than a BSN prepared RN in most cases. I hold the lives of the frailest patients imaginable and I make less than $25 an hour, hence why I work so much overtime (that $25 an hour is with my shift diff and 6 years exp).
I love what I do. I see everyday the differnece I make. Not many jobs can say that. That you make someone better, maybe not physically, but better. You make families better just by being there. Nursing is being whatever the patient needs, nurse, doctor, therapist, massuse, dietician, etc. We do it all, and keep coming back even tho we are treated like dirt.
By the year 2008 the nursing shortage is expected to hit 450,000 nurses short. That's a 1/4 of the needed workforce at present, with minimum staffing laws coming into effect.
it's wrong and patients are dying because of it. You can blame nurses for putting up with it, the public for not demanding better nurses, and hospital admin for being cheap.

Welcome Jean-Marc and thanks for posting this. I would be really curious to find out the answer to this as well. I might just have an over abundance of memory cards (2 512 and 1 1GB) but it would be nice to have the pics put on a disc. DD is bringing her laptop, so if I had to I could always con her into letting me download the pics onto her computer.
