No Linda....at least I know to look at the sticker attached to the little gas cap door thingie (don't know if it has a more technical name or not) to know what type of fuel to put in!!!!!!! Now if the vehicle was standard...then I'd have a problem!!!!

Elaine

Now, once someone was selected for The Amazing Race...............wouldn't you think they would "practice" and learn how to drive a stick shift? I mean, it's obvious that someone is going to drive one at some point on the race.

And.........what did you think about the head shaving last night?

My mom was a surg/charge nurse. Crashed and burned after HA #5. Entire side of the family has some sort of genetic coroary malfunction. Either hearts or vessels go poof --- all different sorts ways to manifest essential and finally maligant hypertension, don't ya know.

We are a cardiologist's dream, or I should say, nightmare. About 6 months ago, went through about 10K worth of tests to find out that there ain't no reason for my HBP. Even Cholesteral is in the 160 range. Finally, laughed at the darlin Dr and said, "Now will you believe me when I tell you, it's in the genes and there's not too much you can do about it?" All the darlin fella could say was "take your ACE and keep losing weight. Oh and the yoga thing is a good idea..."

Now, aren't you supposed to be studying for a TEST????

Margaret,,,, Did you get a homocysteine level done? This leads to heart disease and is not commonly tested for by doctors. It is potentially treatable with folic acid.

Hey, it just occured to me that some of you scrappers out there might be going to CKU, (creating keepsakes university) if so, you're watching the clock like I am. We register in an hour! Let me know if you are, so I can stress out with you... like I needed any more of that today!

I just got some clothes I bought from Coldwater Creek, and THEY'RE TOO BIG! I think that's good news, but now I have to send them back... oh well, it could have been the other way around, right?

This may be the stupidest question ever as you probably know this already, but have you looked at the MMWR from the CDC? I have found the best morbidity/mortality rates there.

For all you non-medical folks: MMWR: Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report from the Centers of Disease Control (and Prevention) available free and online. There are five main Publications: Weekly Repts, Recommendations & Repts, Surveillance Summeries, Supplements, and Notifiable Diseases. Plus stat and reports by state.

Yes, it's true, I'm a smartie pants. Before working in commerical mortgage banking, I worked in academic libraries: first in medicine and then in law.

Our family is currently living in San Ramon,CA. Due to my DH's job we have move a few quite a few times. We have lived in Oregon, Washington, Connecticut and California. We are loving CA and hope to stay for awhile.

My DH is a Marketing Manager for a composite company. With his job he does get to do quite a bit of traveling. He graduated from Texas A&M.

I am a stay at home mom of 4. Which keeps me busy morning, noon, and night. I guess I would be considered a "soccer mom". When I have a few minutes I love to read.

My oldest DD, Allison is 11 and in the 5th grade. She is very shy around new kids. She absolutely loves the kids groups on the cruise. She has already informed us that she will be to busy in group, to join us for dinner. She has had a very challenging year. She broke both her arms in Sept, when she fell off the monkey bars. The right arm didn't heal right!! She's had to have 2 surgeries done on it. The last one was in Feb. when the Doctor put in a plate and screws. She is keeping her fingers crossed, that her arm will be healed in time for the cruise.

JC, our DS, is 9. He loves sports, computer games & ninetendo. He is playing baseball this year for the first time and loves it. JC is highly allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. He enjoys going on the cruise and having the "staff" take care of his dietary needs.

Chritopher is 7 and in the first grade. He is very out going and loves to make friends where ever he goes. It would not surprise me if he knew every child's name by the end of the cruise. He is also highly allergic to peanuts and tree nuts.

Katie is our baby. She is 5 and will start K in the fall. She is a very brave little girl. She love to follow her "big brothers" everywhere. She recently had to have 6 stitches in her chin when she fell off her bike, while trying to keep up with her brother.

This will be our families 5th DC.

One last thing- does anyone usually do the music challenges in the Prominade lounge for the medals? Robb and I usually do- he's really good at jazz, swing, and big band music due to playing the sax in many bands. WE both are good at 80s music.....anyone else do this?[/QUOTE]

OK, what??? I don't know about this! My husband is the most amazing big band encyclopedia...he can hear a song and say "Well, that was recorded by Bunny Berigan in 1942 in Chicago, etc." He's incredible. We'll be there!

Have any of you Oregonians been to the little animal park just north of the CA border in Bandon? They let you pet the animals there, even tiger cubs! We went last time we were out there before moving down here. I'll NEVER AGAIN drive a motorhome down highway 1! I think that's where they invented roller coasters!

ttfn,
Renae

The Bandon Game Park...yes I've been there several times...I got to feed a baby black leopard...beautiful animal. The only thing I don't like about that place is the rams...they want food so they "ram" you in the backside :rotfl2: You get a little sore after a while.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Yeah, I'm kinda with you on that one Leslie...

Okay, I'm off to our tanning appointment. We REALLY white folk don't want to burn on CC, so we're tanning a bit to get ready for being in the strong sun after a particularly WET :umbrella: winter here in CA...

Hmmm...makes me wonder if I could somehow get my boss to "win" a trip to visit the rams at that animal park... :rolleyes1

DH is 36, I'm 32. I am a compliance officer for a brokerage firm in Silicon Valley. Don't ask what that means, it'll take too long to explain. But I be Rebecca understands, since she's in a very similar business.

Yup...know exactly what you mean :scared: I deal with the compliance issues here at the branch plus deal with the people at the home office....love those yearly audits :faint:

Our DD Jamie (now 13), broke both her arms when she was 5 jumping off the swing set (the boys did it, so she figured she could too!). If not for the pain of it all, it was quite hysterical, especially when she said for the first time in tears.............mommy I have to go potty.................and both arms were in slings. Had to go back and have the one arm re-broke and re-set in operation after 3 weeks cuz it wasn't healing right. I think the Disney Store loved me that week. I bought everything that they had that buttoned up the back!!!! That was the only way to get clothes on.

Well, 8 years later, and she is fine.....does gymnastics, cheer, dancing and performing and all has healed so don't give up hope!

Kara,

I'd completely forgotten about that! Those rams were awful, and grabby with the food...

My favorite animal there was the bearcat. I'd never heard of them before, and it smelled like popcorn. Amazing!

Well.. at this point I guess I can safely assume that no docs are coming today. :sad1: Maybe it is because they had to reprint them when they decided to give us the last minute upgrade.....:rotfl2: yeah right.. that's it!!

.......................ON MY TEAM!!!

if we play Music Trivia!!!!
