2005 school vacations

Here in RI we will be out April 18-24. But that goes for public schools only.

Ours was posted on our school districts website too. Are you ready for this? Our district doesn't have a spring break next year! They have Good Friday, and Monday off. If there are no snow days to make up (fair chance their will be) they will get Thursday off. That's it. No week anywhere else either.

Wow - when does your school year end? Ours doesn't end until the end of June.

Next year it will end the Friday before Memorial Day. Another first, I have never seen a school in Minnesota get out in May. Very odd, and I'm not sure I like it.

I work for our local district here in MI and our calendar is not yet set for next year. Here the teachers get to vote on setting the calendar and this year their contract is up so until they settle the contract there is no schedule. Some of you who are having problems finding your schedule may be in the same boat. I have heard the district is thinking of big changes in ours this year. Time will tell!

hEY NMILLER , IM IN NORTHVILLE AND WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT. ALL WE KNOW IS WHEN SCHOOL STARTS. THE REST OF THE CALANDER IS NEGOTIATED. RIGHT NOW NORTHVILLE IS IN SCHOOL 14 MORE DAYS THAN IT NEEDS TO. I HEARD WE WILL GET OUR FEB BREAK BACK. WE'VE ONLY HAD A FRIDAY OFF THE LAST 2 YEARS.

Looks like you Long Islanders won't be the only ones in WDW next April. :D

Just got the information from our school district....we're off the week of April 25 - 29th, 2005 !!! YEAH!! I can finally start planning our trip. (The first one for DD (6) and DS (3), and second trip for DD (12) )

I am soooooo happy now. :jumping1:

Wasn't really looking forward to going down this August with the heat and humidity. April seems to be a better month both crowd and weather wise, even if there will be Long Islanders there. :D

Our school district has April 18-22 off. My wife has wanted to go on the DCL so I did a litle searching and found out that the rates for that week were less than the rates for Easter Week and Presidents Day Week.

They seem to be treating it like any ordinary week in April. I can save close to $2000 because of a "scheduling fluke". I hope for everybodies sake they treat this week as a value period and not a Holiday period. We'll have to see.

BTW my calender was posted on the website a month ago. I had noticed it on the schoolboard agenda and checked the next day and it was posted.

Hey, no Jersey people allowed in April...don't you people have your own week in November?;)

lindaso - yes, apparently there is a Jersey week in November, but we can't go then. Don't want to pull the kids out of school for more than 2 days. (we only have that Thursday and Friday off) And we are going to drive down since there's five of us. Besides, didn't your mother teach you to share?? ;)

OK, but I have to draw the line with Long Island and parts of NJ...I'm NOT willing to share past that!!
