Stacey - that was really wierd yesterday with me getting your countdown. Does that mean I get to take your cruise????
Congrats on the suite. We will be close to each other, not too far to stumble home after all that wine !

Today DS has an ice cream social at the Middle school for new 6th graders. He is excited about that. Need to get him a haircut first.

I will tell Kristen about the teen board and have her get registered.

I had forgotten all about Sun Country wine coolers! I can even remember making our own wine coolers with wine and sprite.

And LeiLani! Please please please bring the Amana wine. I used to go to Cedar Rapids for work (visited Rockwell Collins) and I always brought back Awana colony wine. My in-laws loved it! I hadn't even thought about you being close to there.

I'll try to keep an eye on the posts, but if I'm not here, go ahead and grab 9000. I love to use that pirate smilie!!!

My DH wanted to take my temperature last night when I turned off the computer and went to bed. "Are you sick?"

Aahhh....wine coolers.....yep, made our own, too. Glad to know we had parallel lives! 70's night ought to be fun!

LeiLani, I know I told you this before...we've been to the Amana Colonies several times. It's a favorite place to go with the Nebraska relatives.
How's your Mom holding up? I know this is horrible for her, but I bet she's glad she's not in Florida.

Laundry buzzer is calling. If I can I'll come back on....it's been a doozy. Lots of weird things going on.

Just got this e-mail from my cousin in Florida... Dearest friends and my family,
As this hurricaine is approaching rather fast, due to hit us here, I thought
I would write one email before all the power, water, and cable goes out.
Mike and I are thoroughly boarded up with hurricaine shutters, we have
water, ice, and we have a generator. We have done all the preparation
recommended by the emergency channel, and there is nothing more we can do
but to pray. (That always works for us in past experience, lol). There
probably will not be any way to reach us, but please know we are safe and
sound in our pitch black hole here. They are going to ban the sale of
alcohol here so Mike is going to get some of that too, just in case we need
it for medicinal pourposes. lol
Please do not email back, all I ask is that you pray for us and keep us in
your thoughts. We will be fine.

Stace-glad to see that I wasn't the only one having problems getting on the boards this morning!

I'm really concerned for everyone on the east coast, this one does not look good. I am going to have to check first thing in the a.m. before we put the boat on the water at the marina to see the latest update. Hope the storm turns and goes way out to sea! And SOON!

Magic will be sailing on Monday now for a 5 night cruise and Wonder on Monday, for three night cruise.

I saw that, Lisa.....I was wondering if the kids were getting into the communion "juice" again!


I have to admit, if this were last year at this time, I would be a total freak. We left for our cruise on the 13th. I hate seeing all this. As much as I truly dislike the dryness of the desert, and have spent half my life wishing I lived near the ocean....I am so glad that I don't right now.

I've always wanted to do one of our longer trips in the Turks & Caicos. Guess I should have done that sooner.....they'll be a long time rebuilding.

Back to the laundry....have to run to the bank...post office.
Nope, not working today. I usually take Fridays off, but I had so much laundry piled up, it couldn't have waited another day.

I've been having a lot of trouble with the boards lately also.

Lisa - I will definitely bring at least 1 bottle of Amana wine on board, just not sure which flavor yet. Amana is only about 1 hour from here so it is nice to go to occasionally.

Stacey - Mom is doing okay. She had her first round of chemo Tuesday and it went well. She was feeling fine on Tuesday night, but they told her in a couple of days she would feel like she had been run over by a "mack truck". I am going to call her here in a little while to see how she is doing. Yes, she is happy not to be in FL right but a little concerned about family and their house. We have some family in south FL but most of them live in the panhandle. Just watching Frances now to see if she makes a run across the bottom of FL into the gulf and maybe make an additional landfall. We lived in Pensacola when Andrew did this but he shifted west and went into LA. Just praying for all those in the path of Frances.

Linda - at least all the people cruising this weekend now know what is going on. I have been watching their posts on the boards and no one knew what to do. I bet this has been a logistical nightmare for everyone.

Actually, it looks like the current Magic cruise is turning into a 9 day cruise. They've told the people on board that it will be at least one extra day, and are getting travel info from them. Nice of DCL to handle all that. I think the Wonder will be extended a day as well. This storm looks awful.

My rule of thumb on the wine: I'm only bringing it for you guys to try if it's something I would buy and drink. I'm thinking the champagne that Kpros likes that's from here, he assures me that it's really good. I'll take his work for it since I'm not much on the bubbly. But I know SOMEONE that is!

Leilani-yep, glad I am cruising for 10 days in December and not September!!!

Plus, our additional nightmare would be trying to rearrange everyone's airline tickets since I used FF miles for everyone except me and DH!

Hopefully, Frances will turn her ugly head and head out to sea and maybe our friend "Ursula" from The Little Mermaid can just do a little magic on her!!!!

Okay, work to do.

Yeah, I had to laugh at that!!! Funny typo! I was thinking I got jipped because our Awana program never served wine!!!!
