What he wears is the least of it...He is asked to do so many un-dog-like things it's a wonder he doesn't crack up...We were at the market the other day and I picked up a package of cheese to check the ingredients...Of course I dropped it, clumsy me. Because I was riding one of the store's scooters I couldn't "step" away from the side of the cooler to get to the package on the floor...Without being told (I don't think it's a good idea for Cash to get into the habit of retrieving food items at the market...Heaven only knows what he'd do with a suicidal loaf of bread slithering off its shelf...) Cash pulled the package out from between the scooter and the cooler with his big foot, picked it up daintily with his teeth and brought it over to where I could reach it with my good hand. No broken wrapper, no tug-of-war over his favorite treat, just another day at work....Good dog.

They appear to be in Dearfield Beach Florida. Is that the company you booked with?

Not really....it's just that not everyone drinks, so someone had to make up for those who don't. And I'm the only one dumb enough to do it.

Anyway....I finally got all caught up on the reading, but I'm going to bed. Jay's sister is coming down tomorrow with her son.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to check in and tell a story or two before the get here.

I'm glad Mary asked the question about dressing up. Jay & Jared are wearing tuxes. I will be dressed in something....no idea as to what, since I have not yet given up on losing weight. But from reading everyone else's answers, it sounds like I was planning on taking way too much. I'll have to go over my list and knock a few things off (no, NOT the underwear!). So, thanks, Mary. And the dressy skirt and a couple of tops is a great idea!

So did you buy the cheese? I know me, I'd have figured if it was in my dog's mouth I'd just *have* to buy it lest anyone else have to buy it.

Their website is www.islandwatersports.us (not .com). They are located at the Hilton Marina which is where the DC docks. It's just walk off the ship and there they are. All the tours operators on the island are just about the same price, run the same route, offer the same services.

Location sold me on this one. Walk off the ship, do the tour, walk back on and get cleaned up, and than off again for the sunset at 5:17 PM. That is an easy day and since all the other days I haul dive give around the port, an easy day sounds nice.

It is COLD here in Chicagoland. This is mid-August - what is happening! Oh well I'd rather have it be cool than hot so I really can't complain, but it feels wierd.

So Stacey - now that you have caught up reading - tell us about your trip!

Morning all. Scuba diver, wow are you a night owl??? Posting at 4 am! I'm happily snoozing away at that time.

Big doin's today for our family. My office picnic is today, then tomorrow the babysitter is taking the kids to 6 Flags. She knows Batman, and has arranged for a backstage tour. Kewl, huh? They're going to spend the rest of the day exploring the park there. Then Friday, we're taking off for Williamsburg. I got a really good deal on a hotel through hotwire, and we're just going to poke around the area. So I won't be in chat this Friday.

Lynda, I agree that Cash truly is a Wonder Dog!! Isn't it great when they seem to do a mind meld with you and know just what you want? I'm so looking forward to meeting you both.

Lynda - I love hearing your Cash stories - and I can't wait to meet him.... I have a feeling that he's going to be the star of our group....

OM - It'll probably be July before I replace the docs.... I signed one resident last week - but they have to finish residency... and I have a couple of more that I'm trying to set the hook in.... I should be OK for the cruise - as I already arranged some coverage..... Our group only hires residency trained board certified Emergency Medicine Physicians - and those are hard to come by in WV.... of course physicians in general frown on coming to WV....

Paul - I already know way too much about your underwear....

Tinks Dad, heard about your possible trip in October. Diving the Living Seas sounds good so keep us posted. It may be the excuss we need. Your DD was very interested in our shark dive (excellent). I'll post some pictures. Dancind was not thrilled, but accured us, with the helping of my DW, that the sharks in Living Seas are "Disney Sharks" and would not hurt anyone.

All the good intentions aside, Mom is still a "Mom".

Once you get under the water, the perspective changes immensely and mind opens up to new possibilities. In fact, it's a GOOD dive if you see a shark. Magnificent creatures actually.

Maybe one day, I'll get her under the water.

It's been cold here in the central Ohio area too. So much so that the kids haven't even gotten in the pool in about 3 weeks (whereas usually they are in 8 hours a day in the summer)

Some would have you believe we are having "GLOBAL WARMING." I'm just not seeing it.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Kinda busy here. DH is getting ready to leave for 12 days. Have to make sure all his laundry is done.

Tinksdad- I miss you guys by a week. I am going Oct 21-24. There is a big group of DVCers meeting on Oct 23rd for Party for the Senses.

Just ordered a new computer for the kids. I am tired of them messing up mine. Gateway had some pretty good deals for back to school. Just got them a basic system, nothing too fancy. $499 after a $100 rebate. They basically just need it for school work and playing games.

Disney World update:

DancnD called me last night after watching the local (Orlando) news and was worried about the Tropical storm Charley coming in. Looks like it will be heading up from Fort Myers right through Orlando and up the East coast.

Calls for thunderstorms and winds from 15mph to 45mph, gust to 65mph.

Sounds like a day for a couple of movies

The girls are going to tuff it out anyway. Wish them luck!
