NUMBER 6000 AND THE T.O.P.!!!!! WAY TO GO VICKI!!!

I thought you two were going to end up in divorce court over that one......you'd best be watching your step, GaRry!!!

Okay......here's one of the weirdest, craziest most stupid things from the trip, and it was at the airport on the way home.
I'm hoping this may make Lynda feel a little better over any trouble she encounters with airline security and Cash.

I had gone outside the airport while waiting for our flight, and was coming back thru security....at the end, sitting in a chair, was a young gal, long blonde hair, pretty. She had a few security guards around her, so I slowed (NOSY!) to see what was going on......she had one leg stuck straight out, pants leg pulled up, and the guard was telling her that they were going to take her to a private room where she could disrobe.....I took a closer look....
she had an artificial leg!!! I could NOT BELIEVE that they were taking her to a room to disrobe! Were they going to take the leg off and run it through Xray???? I am outraged at that. Why not just do like they did on the one Candid Camera episode....lay her down on the conveyor belt, and run her through!!!
I'm still shaking my head over that one. Unbelievable!!

 Haven't had a chance to say "WELCOME" to Jeanette (still 28, you toddler!) and her family!
We are a strange bunch, but I think we are bar none the most fun group you will ever cruise with!
Glad you're sticking with us!

And nice to hear from Ohiomickey, too!!!

Still at work. Heading out drinking afterwards. I've got to get my stamina up so that I can keep up with all of you hard core partiers on the cruise!

Paul

Greetings all- made it as far as Franklin, TN. We'll stay here tonight and tomorrow night. Having lunch with relatives tomorrow and dinner with RobinTN.

Vicki- congrats on #6000!

jilljill- who did you know at Homecoming? Are they DIS members? We met lots and lots of great people!

Gail - sent you a pm this morning.

Either Mark or I will be in chat tonight. With only the laptop with us only can be 1. My thinking it will be Mark.

:sunny: Unpacked, laundry going, didn't bother with the mail, and I set my new countdown timer!!

Wow......400+ days seems like forever!

Some of my adventures with security are similar...They routinely make me remove my leg brace.....in public....once they just rolled up my pants leg and removed it themselves....That was in January...
Some stories have to settle before being told... At the moment I've got a problem with my foot (swollen the size of a little football) so I've been told to spend less time sitting and more time lying down....Bye for a while..Sorry I missed #6000.... Welcome back, travelers!

:( Lynda, Sorry about your foot! Hope it gets better quickly.

Well... long day. Calling it a night.

Good morning all!

Reporting in from Franklin, TN where we are spending the day and night. We've got family here that we will see today and tonight we are having dinner with RobinTN.

I'm facing a minor problem. Seems I've ended up with a heat rash all over my legs and arms. Showed up yesterday morning and hasn't gone away yet. I'm sure it is from sitting in the hot hot sun at the SSR opening on Thursday. Plus since I take Advil for my arhritus in my ankel that just added to it. From what I've read I just need to take it easy and stay out of the sun so that is the plan for today. :D

Went into chat last night and Lisa was there. We are using the new chat room now. The avatars are gone, but you can pick the color of your type and you can use smilies.

Welcome back Stacey - sorry to hear it was cold for you. We would have gladly given you some of our heat. We hit 95 every day we were down there!

Good Morning! Actually, it's almost noon.....but I am still on vacation!
Mary, are you sure it's heat rash? I had little red dots, swollen, hot and a little itchy on my legs by the third day at DL......this is the 2nd time it's happened. Now that I'm home, and not walking all day, it's gone. Pretty weird, huh?
The cooler weather was nice, we just couldn't go swimming, and I didn't bring any warm clothes...but it was better than the hot, hot weather I was expecting. Makes standing in line nicer. The clouds also made the old sun a lot more deceptive. Nasty sunburn, which surprises me, because I was already very tan. Oh well. Peeling is always a fun memento.
Am in the process of printing (yes, I still print and keep a regular album) out my 300+ photos. Nut that I am.
We missed not going on Space Mountain...will be glad when they reopen it next year. Matterhorn is always fun, and Indiana Jones. Jared left his prized AZ Diamondbacks hat in the Indy Jeep. We went back, and they checked every car.....no luck. Someone had taken it. The next day, I went to Lost & Found.....apparently, that someone was a really nice person....the hat was there! Restores my faith in humanity....especially Disney fans!
Now that the kids are older, we rode mostly the "big" rides, and we hopped back & forth between the two parks more than I care to think about. Our evenings were spent in Downtown Disney, which is really a plus when the parks close early.
Spent a long time on Tom Sawyer Island. That place brings back more memories for Jay and I than just about anywhere. There was a lady operating the raft to the island. She told us she was the first female raft operator the park ever had, and she had to fight to get to do it. They thought it was too strenuous for a "girl". She's been doing it since 1972!
I gave myself a job being Disney Cruise Line's Good Will Ambassador. Every where I went I told people about the cruises. Surprising how many people over there who didn't know the ship was coming there next summer. My DH thinks I would talk to a wall if no human was around. Only when it comes to Disney!!
DH, on the other hand, gave himself a job as the cigarette police. I could have died, but he's right. He kept directing ill-mannered smokers to the proper smoking sections....with mixed reaction. One family tried to pretend they didn't speak English, and didn't understand him, one guy nearly punched him, but most apoligized, and moved. I had to laugh though. Outside Tower of Terror there are benches that are pretty much tucked away from the people, and a gal & her husband were sitting next to my DH, when the girl lit up. I was surprised to find that all DH did was move. I asked him why he didn't say anything to her. His reply...."Did you see the SIZE of that guy?"......LOL Real tough, Jay.
The kids were intrigued by the police dogs. This year was the first time we had seen them wandering the parks.
We saw 3 Australian Shepard puppies being trained as assistance dogs. What a hoot! I think those pups were training the trainers! They were beautiful dogs (my personal favorite, anyway) and all 3 were different color mix.
All in all it was a really great time....how could it not be?
The only time it will be any better is next summer, when we leave the parks and get on the Magic.
Well...out of here for now. Hope everyone is having a great day!
Stacey

I haven't been to DL in almost 10 years. I'm looking forward to going before the repositioning cruise next year. Actually I have a week vacation that I haven't scheduled yet..............hmmmmm.

Paul

Hi Paul!
I think you have more vacation time than even I do! When were you thinking of using that week? Before your cruise, or sooner than that?

gaRry......I know I put in my t-shirt order a long time ago.....but just to drive you crazy, I'm going to update it.
I don't know how the "votes" are going, but I like Design #2....I like the way the islands stand out more that way. I'm torn between Design A & B for the front....I definitely like the idea of the shirt being blue, it makes it look like the ship is on the sea.
SO: Blue shirts, two size extra large, Design 2 on the back, and either Design A or B on the front (whatever everyone else is going with). One with my name (Stacey) and one with DH (Jay).
I doubt the kids would wear them, so I'm not going to waste the money. All the more wine for me!
Okay, so did you write that down?
Remind me not to tell you again, and not to change my mind again! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stacey

Stacey - If I were to do a trip to DL it would probably be in Sep or Oct. I don't think the DW will go for it though since she has no vacation left. I'm sure she would like to keep me home to work on a "honeydo" list!

Paul

Paul,
Can I talk to your wife? How does she make you do "honeydo's"? I can't seem to get my DH to do them! He always has his own little projects. If I need something done, I have to do it myself. No kidding! It has turned me into a very handy little person, though.

And, by the way, October is another one of our favorite times to go to DL.
