20040131 ~ Cruising Jan 31 2004 Western Who's with us?

Team,

I think we set our sights too low. We'll be at 900 today, and should easily surpass 1000. Heck, if all of us just announce that we got docs, that will drive up the count.

Are there any card players in the group? Can we play cards on deck and not get them blown away? Might be fun for a non-port day.

Do you think they'll have the rest of the 2005 schedule announced by Feb 6? I'd surely like to book a 2005 cruise, if they have the schedules out. Best of all possible worlds would be a repositioning cruise through the canal.

Wooooo-hooo!

I've got a place to stay the nite before. Just confirmed we're at the Hyatt. Reservations were made today by DCL. May not need e-docs after all.

*grin* Meetcha at the pool for a pre-cruise drink, Dean!

What time do you guys fly in? We land at 10am...of course that means getting to Logan Airport in Boston by 4:45am...which means leaving my house by...3:45-4am...

Urgh! This is worth it, right? ;)

We leave here around 10 AM (two hour drive to the airport) fly to Indianapolis and then to Orlando getting in around 6:30 PM. I would imagine we will be ready for "one" by then.

Party at our house? Jeez, I gotta get more drink mixes and munchies!!!!! :earseek: :scared: Hey Gail, how are fixed for drinks? BEER RUN!!!!:teeth:

Gary, do you have enough of the little umbrellas for the party tonight? I don't do beer, can I bring some wine or fixings for something exotic? On a day like today hot buttered rum wouldn't taste too shabby!

Well, Dean, you're ahead of me! I haven't booked my flights or hotel yet! I just have docs!

Cap I told you back when we were working on 800 that we could go for 1500 or even 2000 posts! Let's aim for 1500!

Karyn

Gary, I might be a little late but I'll arrive thirsty!!

Dean

OK Team, we're past the 900 mark. Let's shoot for 1500 posts in our thread by the time the Sail-Away whistle goes off.

600 posts / 25 days = 24 posts / day

24 posts / 8 regular posters = 3 posts / day per regular
(other posters are just added bonus)

3 posts / day = check in and post every 8 hours.

OK regular posters (Dean, Karyn, Kim, Gary, Randy, Annie, The4OfUs, & me [Cap]), let's get going!

With 907 posts, we're in second place now.

Judi just arranged to have dinner with our friends, John and Jeannie, on Saturday so we can plan our excursions, or at least have some directional plan. Are they doing anything special for Super Bowl Sunday on board?

Present Canton Michigan temperature = 8 degrees F, and windy. Judi and I just came back from a "walk". We did our normal 15 minute route in under 10. Amazing what cold will make you do.

Sorry, Gary, I won't be coming to the party afterall. :( It's at least 8-hours from here and since Cap is saving my place in line at the kiosk, I gotta at least do like he asks and post in 8 or so hours. Karyn can have my share, she's probably worked up a good thirst.

Dean

Cap, you're one degree warmer than here! Did you walk past my BIL's house? He lives on Windmill. I think I've already done my 3 or so posts today.

Dean do you just plan on posting every 8 hours? Is that how it works? I'm drinking tea right now to try to keep warm. I have to leave the house in a few minutes - my car is warming up and I really really don't want to go out.

Gary, I don't think I can make it either. But here's to a great host anyway!

Cheers!

Karyn

Yep, Karyn - figure I'll post around 9 PM. Then, I am usually up at 4 AM and awake by 5 AM so I'll post around then. You?

Dean

I think I'll overcompensate - I'm getting more excited by the minute!

Hey Gary - we had some of those LES pull through earlier...it's awesome when they hit this far east...in the matter of 10 minutes we had an inch of snow, RIGHT after DH shovelled of course...thanks for sharing!

Hello, fellow posters and cruisers! We watched the DCL video last night... It's great! And, I have most of DD's clothes ready to pack - we'll have to do a shopping stop before we get on the cruise though, she outgrew some of her summre clothes this fall... This weekend I'll go through all of mine and Randy's clothes to get them ready, then will just have to put them in a suitcase the night before we leave... I think we're getting somewhat organized with the non-creasable stuff getting backed in a duffle bag... sorry I've been slow with the posting but I've been really busy with work - I promise to at least do one post a day though...

I had to put in my two cents about the other board as well... last year I was reprimanded and my posts deleted for mentioning this board on the other one... oh well... c'est la vie...

Keep warm, and keep smilin'
Ann

Who needs the other board anyway?! Although I must admit, I was just on there today in the Ports of Call section looking up our stops

I should have checked this board before I left work this afternoon; I could have been to Gary's for the party in 3-1/2 hours. It's too late to leave now, especially since I have to work tomorrow!!

We just came in from our annual Homeowners Association Meeting. With wind, the temperature outside is like -12 F. Let's see, on Feb 6 at about 9:00 PM, it should be much warmer. Hope we can still sit on the deck and look at stars.

Karyn, you BILs place is about 4 miles NE, as the crow flies. Way to cold to walk that far today.

Dean, I've got a great article on sleep deprivation. If you're posting at 9:00 PM and up at 4:00 AM, that sounds like you're averaging less than 7 hours per night. When we're on the cruise, can you drop the morning paper off outside my stateroom door about 4:30 AM, please?

Love to, Cap, but it takes me an hour to wake up after I get up. Can I do it about 5 AM?

Dean

OH MAN!!! We've got pitchers of margaritas and cold Coronas in the fridge. bowls of chips and dip, we've got our tropical party shirts on and nobody shows up!!!

That's the last time WE host a virtual party!!!;)

HADN!!! :wave2:

Hey Gail, pass me another Corona!!!

"Get it yourself!" says Gail as she sips her Margarita.:cool2:

OK, here is my final contibution for the nite. We're taking an inventory of the new stuff we picked up for the cruise so we can start packing. (I use the term "WE" very loosely) I guess I did make some head-way.

G'nite, everybody!

Dean
