This is what the DW brought back from the credit union, in addition to about $20 in dollar coins and two rolls of quarters. Don't know if she is just expecting to tip a lot or if she is planning to tip everyone (including dining attendants & room attendants) in singles.

She mocks me for spending so much time on these boards, but if she had, she would have known better...

The CM's probably would prefer cash to coins, as would the porters who handle your bags at the terminal. Quarters ARE useful in case the need for laundry arises (which it has on 2 of my last 3 cruises, and one of those cruises twice) and I recommend a little ziploc w/ some laundry tablets and dryer sheets, and throw the quarters in the ziploc and that's a handy kit. Two rolls sounds a bit much, since I can't think of anywhere except laundry to use them--and I hope no one does so much laundry on the ship that they need two rolls.

I just think the easiest tipping for servers and stateroom attendants is done by charging it to the shipboard bill and putting the printed "tip ticket" in the envelope. Singles are what you need for room service though, definitely--was she planning much of that, apparently?

On whichever islands you will tour yes, you should have some cash--keeping it small in denomination is better since no one will be able to make change for you--but maybe some 5's or 10's? I can't imagine anyone on a foreign island wants a U.S. Dollar coin.

Now that's a lot of room service!

Let's see $2 per delivery is about 100 deliveries divided by seven days...yup, lots of chocolate chip cookies!

Have a great trip!

Its a four-day cruise! The quarters are probably going to end up in the pressed penny machines around WDW during the three days prior to the cruise. We had also read a tip about tipping room service with dollar coins since they are not that common.

Still, I wish she had asked first "how many singles and how many dollar coins?" I'll let her carry the singles and pay for everything so everyone we meet will think she is a stripper.

Now, I think it is compliment on how attractive and in-shape your DW may be to make that comparison with a stripper (any body spray around the house you can use to scent the dollars and further enhance the imagery?), I just wonder if your DW appreciates the comparison. I know I'd be sleeping on the top bunk next cruise if I made that comment, but perhaps your bride is fun and sees the same compliment I do.

I don't know what you mean by this as I have never, ever been in a strip club before.
:earseek:
Whoa! Where did that bolt of lightning come from? ;)

Speaking of strippers...I once worked in a Travel Agency and in the fall when the weather turned colder the strippers from the local club would come in to purchase airline tickets to work the winters in Florida.....they would come in and pay with a huge piles of singles....no one in the office wanted to handle the money as they knew where it had been!!! LOL!!!

How the heck did a post about singles turn into a post about strippers and their money. :rotfl2:
This post has me rolling on the floor laughing! Too funny, y'all! :rotfl:
