Have any of you received the bonus $200 giftcard that was received with the 4/7 offer? I am just wondering how restaurants etc. were in accepting it for payment. We will be receiving a $500 gift card next month and are planning to use it for food with our Tables in Wonderland discount card. Thanks for any info on this!!

It's a Disney gift card, it's accepted pretty much anywhere on property same as cash.

We used our $200 gc every morning for breakfast. I don't think you'll have any issues.

I used ours for tips since we did the DDP and for merchandise. Each time we used it the bottom of the receipt told us how much was left on the card. It was very easy.

Thank you very much. We really decided to go on this trip because of the $500 gift card. Our APs expire soon and it was just too good to pass up as long as we can have no problem using it for food along with the Tables in Wonderland card. Your example is similar being on DDP and using it for tips. Thanks again!

I had no problems using our TIW card with the $200 gift card. I might be mistaken but I thought the $500 gift card was for merchandise only.

No, we were able to use our 200.00 gift card for food or tips or anything we wanted.

I just want to add that we put everything on our KTTW and then payed off our balance at the resort desk with the 200.00 gift card and any remaining a credit card. I'd call down every couple of days to see how much was left on the card.

Same here, but isn't the $500 from a pin code? They are 2 different cards. The $200 was good for anything, but I think the $500 is only good for merchandise.

ETA: Sorry for any confusion. looks like there was a new emailed pin code with the $500 gift card that can be used for dining.

Yep thats the card I got...Its good for $500 for anyplace that accepts disney GC!!! :D yay.

Yes, there was a pin a few months ago that was only for merchandise. This one for $500 is advertised the same way as the $200 gift card offer, that's why I was asking (to make sure!) If it were a merchandise card I really wouldn't have done it.

We just came back on Friday. We had the dining plan, but were able to put both tips and alcohol in the restaurants on the $200 GC, as well as merchandise. I was surprised about the drinks. I also had the $75.00 Birthday GC, so I think we did very well! (Especially since our Disney VISA points paid for our 4 nights room/park tickets and we stayed the extra night free as part of the 4/7 offer, and we used the free flight tickets we earned thru Southwest! Also had an extra $102 in VISA points to use while there. The only things we paid for on this trip were the dining plan and our La Nouba tix.:yay:) I wish we could have tacked on the other 2 free nights, but had other committments which interfered, unfortunately.:sad1:

Wow!! you basically had a vacation on Disney and Southwest!! Thanks for the info on the card. We have a $500 one plus another $100 that my husband received for opening a Disney Visa. I have about $60 Disney Dollars but I won't put them on a card since we have the $600 already. It will be our last trip on our current AP that expires mid May. We decided just last weekend to book since we received the offer of the free $500 giftcard and had the AP. We only have a small amount of the Disney Dollars since I did use them last fall and really haven't used the card that much since. You did really well with all your rewards!!

Yes - I was beyond thrilled. This was an unexpected vacation, but one we both really needed!

I don't know if this will help anyone, but we had the $200 GC offer. I applied a CC to my room account and we just used that for all our meals, souvenirs, etc. Then, on my last day, I went to the front desk and applied my $200 GC toward my room charges. No Problem! Easy as pie!!!

HTH

If I remember correctly there were 2 $500 gc offers. One was offered at the end of 2008. It was an offer that you could buy a $500 merchandise only gc at a discount. It was something like $435.

But in 2009 a pin code came out that offered a $500 gc with a package (tickets and room at rack rate). The gc in this offer could be uses anywhere Disney accepted gc's.

Yes, I as well remember the first one and wanted to make sure that this new pin really was a true gift card. That's why I posted. Thanks to all that have responded!!
