I thought I read somewhere that you can book without having to pay the $200 right away and it just has to be paid within 14 days of you first booking or 45 days b4 the trip. I'm not sure how this works. Is it for room only or for packages also? Do you have to call or can you do it online? or does this not even exist? :confused3

When we booked with AAA they would place a hold on our package for 10 days. At the ten day mark $200 needs to be put down or the reservation gets canceled. I do not know how WDW reservations works. :confused3

The $200 deposit is for packages and must be paid within 2 weeks I believe and the entire package must be paid off 45 days before you leave.

If you are doing a room only reservation, you pay one night's rate plus tax, within that same 2 week frame. However you do not have to pay it off until you arrive.

This works the same way if you reserve by phone or online.

To book a package, you are required to pay the $200.00 deposit within fourteen days of booking the package. You can then begin making payments all the way up the 45 day mark at which time you must pay the vacation package in full. Disney does not care how many payments you make or how often you make them so long as you make a $20.00 minimum payment each time and it is paid in full by the 45 day mark.

To book a room only, you are required to pay a deposit equal to one night's stay at the resort of your choice. I believe that must be paid within the fourteen day mark too. I have never waited to pay but have paid it at the time of booking so I am not sure about the 14 days. The balance of a room only package can be paid at check-in.

I always get a quote online at www.disneyworld.com and then call Disney reservations at 407-W-DISNEY to book. I just like to talk with a CM when booking. If I get a quote from the CM that is higher than online (only happened once), then I tell them what it said and they have honored the online price.

When making a room only ressie you have to pay a deposit of one nights stay upfront and the remaing balance isn't required to be paid until your arrival date. However if you would like you may pay it off before you arrival it up to you.

This Sept. we have a room only ressie because we already have our tickets and we're not on any dining plan. I've paid the deposit and an additional night already and plan to pay for another night by the end of the month that way when I check in I'll only owe for one nights stay. (It's a short 4night 5 day trip)
