My son is 2 my question how much is he going to be able to ride? I know Fantasyland is a given but what about the rest of the world?

TIA

He will be able to ride most of the rides in all four parks. There are rides that have height requirements and he won't be able to ride them, but they are in the minority.

Our 2 year old has been quite a few times. Of course, Magic Kingdom has the most toddler friendly rides. They can basically ride almost anything except the "big" rides like Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, etc. My DD even went with us on Pirates of the Caribbean last time we went.

At 2, my kids were able to do everything but the thrill rides. I have to admit that some of the shows were a little too intense. We had quite a few tears during some of the performances.

That's what makes Disney.....well Disney. It's all very dramatic and intense. Philharmagic is one of our favorite shows and I can remember my daughter screaming through the whole thing the first time, mainly because it is loud and in 3-d

Lots to do though.....have a blast!

Mickey's Toontown Fair in the MK will also be fun for a 2-year old. Minnie's and Mickey's country houses have some hands-on attractions, and we always have to pull our kids away from Donald's boat with the dancing water.

Our youngest have had a similar experience with Philharmagic -- the extreme volume puts them on edge (the Enchanted Tiki Room is similarly loud). The Country Bear Jamboree seems to be a more uniformly enjoyable show for little ones.

Have fun! Our kids love it at a younger age than we expected, even without the thrill rides.

He will be able to do a lot more than what you would think. DS has done pretty much everything that doesn't have a height requirement. Including Pirates and Haunted Mansion. ENJOY!!

Has anyone ever brought a 1 year old? Would the rides be the same as with a 2 year old?

My little ones did everything that didn't have a limit. When they got to 4 or so, the mansion bothered them a bit, as did the alien in TGR. At 2 there weren't any fearful connections. It was all still a bit of a fantasy.

Have a lovely trip!

My youngest went at 13 mths and then again at 2 yrs old. Both times she rode everything that did not have a height requirement. The two things that bothered her were fireworks and Fantasmic. As long as I kept my hands over her ears she tolerated them.

There will be a lot to do. Disney is not just about the rides. It's also about the atmosphere, the shows, the people. You will find plenty to do. And remember to take lots of pictures and video. The kids grow up way too fast. DS4 told me the other day that the characters were not real ,just people dressed up. I still don't know what he is talking about:confused3 .

There is plenty to do throughout all the parks. Don't let anyone tell you different! We have brought our two sons both when they were at the age of two. And we had lots to do all day long.

There is a list of rides with height requirements on the disneyworld.com.

Piggy backing another reply... Word of caution, stay away from "It's Tough To Be A Bug" in the Animal Kingdom. It scared my two year old to the point where he would panic going into any other show.

We took DS last year when he was almost two and he could do a lot of things. There were plenty of rides and he enjoyed the shows too, although I remember someone telling us about a Bug's Life scaring their child, so we did skip that. He wasn't really familiar with Disney movies at that point, just Toy Story, so I'm not sure he really "got" all the characters, but he did definitely know who Buzz was!

We took our DS at both 22months and 31months.
On the first trip, I was pregnant and so he and I basically couldn't ride the same rides but he did ride everything else. At that time, he had a few issues with some dark rides (about halfway through HM he hid his head, POTC was closed at the time) and definitely loud rides (Ellen's Energy Adventure was the worst) and he didn't really want to go on the Dumbo type rides.
The second trip, we couldn't get him off of the Dumbo type rides, esp. the Magic Carpets. He also did Goofy's Barnstormer and Astro Orbiter (both at his insistence) and enjoyed POTC (we just told him in advance that it would be dark for a bit and there would be a hill). We skipped Ellen and he tolerated HM. Definitely the older age was better as far as him going on more rides and seeming to enjoy them more, but we really had a great time both trips and he still talks about all the things we did in Disney World.:rotfl:

My 2.5 year old went on everything (except for the rides with height restrictions) and we saw all of the shows! She loved everything, BUT she is not afraid of anything! She can't wait til she can ride the "big" rides like her brother!
