Hello guys,
My niece and her dh are vacationing with their 4 y/o and 1 y/o. Should she bring her double stroller(2 deep not wide) or bring 2 umbrella strollers? I always rented at the park because they were so nice to get around in. I think the umbrellas will be lighter and easier to carry. What are your experiences? I am also gonna tell them to tie a loud fabric or something to recognize them quicker after rides considering they get moved around a lot. Thanks!

I am going with a 3 1/2 & 1 year old in Sept. I plan on bringing my double stroller so that DS can nap since it reclines. My umbrella strollers don't recline and I think that is important. Plus, I like having some storage under the stroller.

I have 2 little ones and I think the umbrella strollers would be uncomfy. They don't lay back and aren't really padded so I say bring the double

If you have a comfortable stroller that reclines fully with good sun protection, you will not need to take a nap break at the hotel. (that's what I do, I know not everybody agrees) I have a double (side by side Maclaren) It is umbrella type but reclines fully on each side. After lunch when it is time to nap, I lay my boys down and drape a blanket or something over the visors and they nap for about an hour or so. You can also by a small clip on fan (the kind with the foam blades) to create some air circulation under there. They don't help too much with cooling kids, but they do move air. If you have a cheaper umbrella style that doesn't recline, I recomend taking a hotel break so your kids can nap comfortably. I also recomend the double because while the kids are napping, others can go and do rides while someone stays with the kids and they won't be stuck with 2 strollers. With a double you can walk around, get an ice cream or just sit wherever.

I brought 2 umbrella strollers last time I went down with my kids (3 & 18months). I have been blessed with children who will sleep anywhere so reclining them wasn't a problem. We tried to keep them out of the sun when we could and used lots of sunscreen, hats, and fans.

Like other posters, I think it depends on if she wants the reclining feature for the 1 yr old. I bought a double for my trip, and loved having it. The big thing to remember too is that you have to fold it up each time you get on/off the buses to the resorts. I also carried my 18mo old in a sling when she wasn't in the stroller. This was perfect for when you have to stand in line, and can't keep your stroller with you. See pictures below!
