Ok... as our trip gets closer I am getting more and more nervous about how it is going to go. Everyone is saying that I am out of my mind to take a trip with them. I have been doing nothing but planning this. DH said I'm going to blow a circuit soon.....I'm definately on overload. Please convince me that it worked out well for you and yours in the past.:thumbsup2 I know we have to keep to their schedule and they will probably dictate how are plans will pan out for the week. Anyway, any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

I went in Nov with my then 2 yo. ds. We had a blast! He enjoyed it so much and it's great seeing things through the fresh eyes of a 2 yo. Gives you a whole new perspective on WDW.

Just make sure to have a daily down time at your room. Nap time would be even better. We tried skipping it one day to see if ds would nap in the stroller. By 3:00 he was on total melt down. After that we went to the room daily from about 1:00-4:00 and it was a much happier vacation.

Also we brought little snacks with us to the parks daily for ds to snack on. We were on the dining plan, but it was still nice to have a snack the minute ds wanted it. As you know, 2 yo's have a hard time waiting for anything.

Have fun!

I have twin girls now 5 and we have not been to Disney yet (planning our first trip for later this year) but we have traveled with then since they were very small and I am glad we did. It was not always easy or fun but they are very good travelers now and adjust easily to new situations. My advice would be, as you said, to go with the flow. They will dictate a lot of how the vacation goes so don't let your expectations be to high, just go with what happens. Absolutely take a nice long break in the day, little ones need rest. And I know it is hard, being an avid planner myself, but I don't think you can plan out everyday and expect things to go according to your well thought out plan. Just go with a main idea of having fun with your babies. There have been times my husband and I have gotten really uptight and frantic in situations we didn't need to. I wish now we had just relaxed and let people think our kids were demons or that we were bad parents or whatever it was they wanted to think and not worried so much about strangers judging us. Having multiples is hard work but so special. Enjoy your family whatever comes. It won't be perfect but laugh when you feel like crying and don't take things to seriously. Before you know it they will be 5 and in kindergarten! Enjoy your vacation and be thankful everyday for your twins!!:cheer2:

A little more info. needed:

Are you staying on-site? Will you have a car? Do you have any other children? Will you bring any other adults? What type of stroller are you taking?

I will have a 6yo DS and twin 2 yo DSs when we go at Christmas time and I'm in "uberplanning" mode. ;) We took our oldest DS when he was 2 and the best advice I can give (and I will be following it myself) is take afternoon breaks. We found it's really not enough to just park the stroller somewhere thinking DS would get some rest. There is just way too much stimulation. Even if they don't sleep when you go back to your room they can lay down or perhaps take a dip in the pool. It will make all the difference.

Just remember, if you realize that your kids are tired in the parks, you've waited too long. It can take a good chunk of time to get from a park to your room and if they've crashed on your shoudlers on the bus ride back to the hotel it's defeated your purpose. :headache: Plan ahead and take the breaks before they show any signs of being tired. :thumbsup2

Please check out the thread called toddler harness in this forum today. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1408862 I have these for my kids and I cannot begin to explain how much they improve life for them and us. They're really cute, more like a backpack. They will be the best Disney prep $$$ you could spend.

Have a great vacation.

And survived!:rotfl2: It will be fine. My advice would be to stop planning! We went with low expectations and had a fabulouus time. We figured anything we saw was great, what we didn't, we'd see next time. Go back to the hotel each afternoon. Spend a little time at the pool, relax in the room. Follow their signals and stick to a normal sleeping/eating schedule as much as possible.

I think as long as you have a rough idea of what you want to do or where you want to go, that will be fine. We didn't really do that, honestly. We decided the night before where we were going the next day. We wandered from area to area and popped in on the stuff that had short lines. If it was a long line, we skipped it and maybe would come back later. That's part of my "anything we get to do is a bonus" philosphy. We took it slow, stopped for snacks, people watched. There was so much for the kids to just look at and absorb!

No matter what, as long as you take it as it comes, things will be fine. It sounds like you are stressing out with the planning...so stop.;)

We've gone to WDW 8x so far with our twin girls. All kids' personalities are different, but our personal experiences in WDW have been wonderful. It helps to not have older siblings so everything we did centered around the ages of the twins. Age 2 is definitely not too young. They can go on any ride without a height restriction. As far as planning, what worked for us was to play each day by ear. We never knew when our girls were going to zonk out in the stroller, so we ate meals around their needing to nap. We did make a couple reservations for character meals, but other than that we just winged it. I dont remember when you are going, but we always went during slow season at that age. Also, I didn't catch which resort you're staying at, but a monorail resort works out well for young twins so you can just roll your stroller right on and off the monorail. Or our personal favorite, Beach Club, is in the Epcot resorts area and convenient to walk to both Epcot and MGM.

My twin DS's spent their second birthday whilst we were staying at FW, they had a great time, dont worry you will be fine, as will they.

Went twice when my twins were two - we had a wonderful time both times! They have an older brother, but we still managed doing the things he wanted to do, and lived to tell the tale!

We never made it back to our room for "rest" time, the girls did just amazingly (which was not expected in the least!). They would conk out in the stroller whenever they were tired. We never used a harness (although we had them), because they did so well holding hands or riding in their stroller (again, totally not expected).

Your twins may very well surprise you in their behavior and how they do at Disney. My girls had a very set schedule at home, which got totally blown out of the water on vacation. We went at the kids pace, stopped and looked at whatever the three of them wanted to look at and do, and made some fantastic memories.

Don't stress - you'll have a great time! I agree with the pp, anything you see is great, anything you miss you'll see next time. Everyday our plan was the same - go to Disney. After that, it was all good! :)

thanks everyone for your input!:thumbsup2
we (DH and twins...no other children) are staying at WL...i figured the boat would be convenient. we have 2 chicco umbrella strollers (lightweight and easily fold). we are planning to rent a car for a day or two to go to SW. hopefully all will go well! still nervous about how they'll do on the plane:scared1:

Don't worry, we have twin DS and they have been to Dis 6 times since they were 11 months old(plus one dis cruise)they are now 4. We also have 3dd's 14, 12 and 10, they have all flown, and driven from PA many times. Lot's of times we go back to the hotel in the afternoon for downtime, swimming for the older kids. At least you are not outnumbered! We have used the chicco umbrellas everywhere, they are great. Go with the flow, if the kids fall asleep find a shady spot and let them sleep. We tried to get the twins back for naps and they would fall asleep on the bus then be wide awake at the hotel:scared1: it was better to let them nap at the park, finish what we wanted to do and go back to the hotel early for dinner and play time before bed. All my kids have been great travelers, in the car and on the plane. I always pack a backpack with new things to do and snack on for the plane. One thing I have found is that my kids eat differently at the Dis, drink more eat less, I've never stressed about food, so if they seem alittle off normal, don't worry. Have fun, take it easy, there is so much to see.

We took our twins when they were just 2 years old and their older brother was 4 years old. Because I had planned, everything went perfectly and it was the best trip ever! It was so magical, I get goose bumps thinking about it. That is how and why I became obsessed with Disney. You will have a wonderful time!

You will have a blast! We are leaving with our 2 year old twin boys in 11 days! CAn't wait- They are excited, It will be their 2nd trip there. THe first one was great ( grandma came) they have never slept better! We took them to San Diego last year and it was great. Everyone had great advice. Just don't get to frustrated if they poop out, it will happen and be patient! You are in the happiest place on earth!
Have fun!

All three of my kids fly better than they ride in a car! I usually go to the dollar store and stock up on cheapie things that are new and different. Don't know how long your flight is (it takes us 2 hours, Washington/Dulles to Orlando), and my girls FAVORITE thing on the airplane when they were two were post it notes and the airplane bathroom!

Expect the worst and you'll be pleasantly surprised! My 2 yo has not been to Disney yet but we have been on a few vacations, the most recent to Hawaii, with her. She did great! The time zone was different, everything was different, but kids are such troopers. She was so enthralled with everything around here that she did not throw one tantrum. I have a feeling your boys will be the same. And if they do melt down....well, they won't be the first ones or the last ones to do so at Disney! Deep breath.....relax..... it'll be great!!! I do realize it's double the trouble! :thumbsup2

We went with 2 year old twin boys, their 3 and 8 year old brothers too. You'll have a great time. Just go at their pace.
