2 yo at Norway Princess Dinner

I know we when we to Disney a couple years ago when DD was 2, when we ate at 'Ohana's, she didn't like any of the food, so they brought her out her own meal, for free.

Now my second DD will be 2 for our next trip. We are wanting to do the Princess dinner in Norway. Will I be able to order an entree for the 2 year old, or can she only eat off the cold buffet and our plates? I don't want to pay a full OOP price for her to eat a hot dog!

I'm guessing that you'd have to pay the kid's meal price for her to get an entree - but I may be wrong. I know at CRT they bring out a little bowl of pasta for toddlers. I hope someone can answer this for you.

I know it's maddening to buy a full meal when kids are so little that they only eat a few bites. There is cheese and fruit on the cold buffet if that helps.

I'd love to know this too, as we're dining there for dinner this June.

When we had breakfast at CRT, the waiter brought out my DS2 his own plate of french toast sticks, which surprised me. Then he said it's all you can eat. I never knew that since it's not served buffet style. I have heard the same thing said about the Princess Storybook. Friends were asked if they'd like more of their entrees. If this is still true, then I'm guessing I can split my older son's entree and get more if we need it.

Otherwise, if they don't offer something for my DS2 and my DS5 will not share (he's the fussy one, DS2 will eat anything). Then I just make sure to order a pasta dish so I can share with DS2.

When we were there in 2007, my dd ate from the cold buffet and off my plate. She did not get a meal of her own unless we wanted to pay extra for it.

I would say that you will be paying for the child's entree unless she eats from the cold bar and your plate. I am not sure if she would like anything on the cold bar. I would also guess that she won't like any of the adult entrees because they serve traditional fare from Norway.

I had asked a similar question a few weeks ago. Yeah, I can't imagine paying $18 for a hotdog (the child price for the lunch). And I have 2yo twins. Somebody here mentioned that the waitress brought a kids meal for her toddler and they weren't charged for it. I'll hope for something similar but I won't plan for it since I'm sure it was just a nice thing for the server to do. I plan on having the twins eat fruit, cheese and coldcuts. Maybe make sandwiches with the bread. I'm hoping they don't start eye-ing their older sis' pizza or hotdog.

The cold buffet has some kid friendly items, like rolls, crackers, cheese, sliced deli turkey and ham. I believe they have fruit too. I'm sure the 2 y/o's will find the desert tray appetizing.

They also have the flat potato bread at the buffet. Spread a little butter on it, sprinkle a little sugar on the butter and roll it up like a burrito. I'm sure the toddlers in your group would love that, and it's a standard Scandinavian treat.

Last time we went DS was 3 and DD was 2...
Everywhere we went that DS 3 got his own meal DD always was offer and got one also.
We were on the DDP and were Never charged anything.
We had planned on paying OOP for DD if necessary but were never charged.
Of course this was only TS not CS...
We did not eat at Akershaus though...
We ate at The Plaza, WCC, and 50's Prime Time.

If you have the 4 year old with you and she is getting a kids meal...couldn't she share with the 2 year old and then supplement with the kid friendly things like the deli meat/cheeses/desserts?

Tinkerbell - otherwise known as DD was 13mo in this pic taken at Askerhaus. The waitress insisted on bringing her her own meal. she was offered any kids meal off the menu at no charge. She really liked the hot dog served with corn. We were told that it was standard practice at AYCTE restaurants. YMMV Had this option not been available she likely would have eaten some of her big sisters pizza as it was huge. Both girls enjoyed the salad bar. We will go back again this September.

I'll be watching this thread too. We are eating dinner there in May, and our 4 yo and 2 yo granddaughters will be with us. We will/may have to pay for the 2 yo I'm guessing after reading this. Sharing is really not much of an option since she has food allergies (latose intolerate), so obviously the cheese tray and hot dogs are not part of her diet. I'm not sure if fruit for dinner will be enough for her. We did tell the CM when making the ADR. I will post back on how this goes for her. Obviously she can't have anything with butter, milk, cheese and and that is pretty much everything on the kids menu except fries and grapes. We do plan to buy her all of her own meals at regular TS locations, but I thought this was a buffet-type location.

I was told by a CM from the IPO that if food allergies are noted on your ADR that the chef is made aware prior to your arrival and will speak with you personally to make sure your child can eat something safe and yummy. That way you own't be guessing.....She also said to always let your server know when you are at your table, too. I think, too, you can call the number for guests with disabilities, and they can help. HTH

We have made sure that every ADR we've made it is noted on the reservation. They told us we could call ahead of time, but that we will get to speak to the chef. I've also found a print out from the disney website that list which counter services will be able to accommodate her needs. Though she's only 2, she is a huge eater. She generally can put away 3-4 pancakes (made from bisquick and silk) every morning. One of her first words is "eat" and her second word is "more" and she also learned to "sign" more before she could even say it. Thanks for the suggestions. This is her 3rd trip and she'll be almost 2 during the May trip, but our first time since her food issues have been identified.

We went the first week in May, and our 2 year old got her own meal free of charge. We had the DDP, and my 5 and 3 year old were on it. I asked them to just bring an extra plate, and the waiter said he'd bring her her own drink and entree too - no charge. Hope you have the same great customer service.
