Has anybody had any problems with their 2-3 year olds on vacation at Disney? If so, What did you do about it?

I have a 2 year old and when we took him to D.C. a couple months ago, he got out of the pack n play! I already knew he could escape it because naptime at my mom's is gone because he has been climbing out of it for at least 6 months now.
When we were at D.C., he cried the whole time he was in it.
Now I am scared that we will deal with this all over again while at Disney in Sept. I also fear that he will cry so hard, someone will complain. Thanks!

I have a 2.5 yr old DS who also can climb out of the Pack n Play. I was really worried about how/where he would sleep when we went to WDW in April. I even bought one of those "crib tent" thingies for the PnP. Luckily, we never needed it. He was so exhausted from having fun each day that he went to sleep as soon as he got into the PnP. He never tried to escape. He never even woke up during the night. I was very pleasantly surprised!

Good luck! :goodvibes

We skipped the pack n play and just used the bedrails. I would lay with DS for a few mins until he was asleep (if he wasn't already from being out in the parks all day) and then went over to my own bed. He did wake a a few times throughout the night but he didn't ever come close to falling out.
We also just stayed at my SIL house and they had an air mattress for him to sleep on. He did amazingly well with this. He even put himself to sleep at night which was bittersweet for me. I miss my baby!

I can't believe your 2 year olds fit in pack n plays! There is no way my DD would have stayed in, slept in, or even fit in a pack n play when she was 2. She was pretty good sized, so I think she was over the weight limit too. When we went to WDW when she was 2, we just requested bed rails and put her in a regular bed at night. She slept great. All of the WDW resorts will provide bedrails on request.

my almost 2 year old has been in a twin bed with rails for a few months now. Have you tried that yet? My DD hated the crib and she loves her bed now

We went when both of my sons were 2. Never even considered a pnp OR bedrails. They slept in the standard bed just fine.

DD has never slept in a pack and play, so she just slept in a regular bed at Disney and did well. Would you consider sharing the bed with him? Though that may cause issues when you get back home...

My DS is pretty small - 35 inches and 24.5 lbs, so he fit perfectly in the PnP.

Other than him sleeping with DH & me (which would definitely lead to issues once back home), the PnP was our only option since our other two kids were sharing the other bed.

Yeah my little guy is tiny. He is only about 32 inches and weighs about 23lbs.
i don't want him in the bed with us since we tried that with our older son and it took forever just to get him in his own bed after that!

Hopefully he will be too pooped from all the excitement to cry and climb out!

If you place the PnP right up by your bed, you will wake up if there are any problems with him climbing out at night.

If it's an issue of him not wanting to fall asleep in the PnP, you can always just let him fall asleep in a regular bed and then move him once he is sleeping.

Both of my kids on our last 2 trips have just slept in a regular bed. My son is 2 1/2 and has been in his own twin bed for at least 8 months and my 1 yr old doesn't like the pnp. I shared a bed with my daughter and my dh slept with our son. Had no issues when we got home, in fact the first trip he took a while to fall asleep in bed with us because he didn't understand lol Anyway...they will be so tired they should sleep just fine. I have gotten some of the best sleep on vacation with the little ones sleeping so well :) Hope you enjoy your trip!

Put the kid in a bed. PnP's aren't even comfortable. The cushion is like a 1/4 inch thick. Put the 3 kids in one bed if you have to or let the baby sleep with you. Just get some bed rails.

I am renting a toddler bed for our trip, I am also requesting the bed rails incase that happens to be a better option for us. You can rent a regular full sized crib if you want but with climbing issues that might not be a good option for you. Right now ds still is in his crib at almost 3 (this sept) and has never tried to get out, but he is potty trained now so we have to convert so he can get out if he has to go. anyhow good luck and I rented from A babys best friend and I loved it, everything was very clean!!

We did a toddler bed on our last trip and it worked well. It's not as overwhelming as full sized bed if your child has never slept in one. We also brought our own sheet (crib sheet) since we have allergy issues, but they did provide clean bedding for it.

I requested the PnP for our room at ASMo, but that toddler bed from abbf is a good idea (if I can talk DH into it) because DS2 has been in a TB for 2m and by the time our vaca rolls around it will be 8. Probably not a good idea to put him in the PnP and back track. Do the provide the sheets and stuff?

They did when I rented the crib but I brougn my own, I did use the bumber because it was sooo cute and very clean, I would not go back to the pnp if ds has been out of it at home.

Did you rent from abbf? Do you have a picture of the bed?

I'm glad I read this thread. I thought the resort would have a crib available for our 22 month old. I love the fact that I can rent a regular crib for my little man. that'll make him oh so happy! We just got back from a trip to visit family in Kentucky and we brought a PNP. what a disaster! He cried the entire time he was in it and ended up in bed with us.

Yes, we used abbf.com. Their website had agood picture. We recieved the one in the picture. It came with bedding. We brought our own stuff, due to allergies, and she did have her own pillow.

Oh no! We kept the crib next to our bed so he could see us and not be afraid when he woke up, the first night was a little rocky but after that not a problem, I highly recomend this. It came in a big box, you have to do some assembly but not a big deal, we asked the bell services to store the box for us, sleeping is a big thing so get it if you need it, standing over a pnp soothing my ds used to kill my back also. I have a pic of the crib it you want to see.
