We are going next month and out 2 year old will be turning 3 in May so this will be the last time she will go for free. We have a character dinner set one night which is a buffet. How do they charge the 2 year old and do I have to include her on the reservation? Can she just eat off our plate for the buffet?

And just so you know, at buffets she can have her own plate. There is no charge, but she does not have to literally eat from your plate at a buffet. The server CAN charge for her drink, though we never have been charged for a drink for an under 3 at any Disney restaurant.

Just pay close attention to your bill when you receive it. We had taken my son when he was 2.5 and they charged us at Chef Mickey's for him---I almost didn't realize it until after I handed my card to the waitress and then did the math because I couldn't figure out why it costed so much. They were able to reverse the transaction and charge me correctly---but she was less than pleased for the extra work. We told her up front that he was under 3 when we sat down. Its a busy place and she must have forgotten.

All correct above. Buffets are free for 2 years old they can have their own plate for free.

If your plans also include a non buffet ts your 2 year old the 2 year old could either eat off of your plate or you could pay for a kids meal.

In either scenario you need to include child in your reservation count.
