Hi! My kids are 2.8 (girl) and 9 y.o (boy). We are going to be at the parks 2-3 days in April. We are going to be busy with a Disney Cruise and visiting family so we decided not to do a park hopper this time. I dont want to feel rushed at all when we are at the parks. I have done alot of research but would love your opinions on the different things to do with the kids while at the parks. We decided on MK and MGM. I know my daughter will have a BLAST- she is a disney freak! But i dont want my 9yo boy to be bored (especially at MK) . He loves Disney but is in the "Cool " stage.....Hoping to hear some ideas for fun things for him. I though about my husband and i spitting up sometimes with the kids but I don't want my husband to miss out on the magic time my daughter will have. My son was at Disney when he was 2 & 5 but this is daughters first time.

I think that you might get more replies if I move this to our Disney for Families Board.

You DS will not be board at MK. My DS is 12 and still loves MK. AT WDW there is no need to be cool. There is a lot both of your children can do. AT 9 my DS was still willing to do it all.

MGM has always been my DS's least favorite park but there are a lot of shows that everyone can enjoy together. DS might enjoy R&R and TOT. My DS was doing both of these at 9. He loved R&R but only did TOT because I love it.

Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Plenty of things for him in MK (Space mountain/big thunder/splash) And in MGM there is Tower of terror/rock and roll rollercoaster and the Ind.jones stunt show. They also have added some cool car stunt show that starts in May?(i think) My 10's favorite ride though is Mission Space in EPCOT. You will have fun no matter what you all do.

I do not like MGM for small kids. There's just not a whole lot for them to do. They time the shows so that you have to really plan and race to get from one show to the next. Our last trip we ended up splitting up. Dh took DD (5) to MGM to ride TOT and Start Tours while I stayed with the 2 year old. The only show the 2 yo really enjoyed was Playhouse Disney.

MK has tons of stuff for older kids. Splash Mtn, Space Mtn, Big thunder RR, to anme a few.
