2 weeks at OKW next summer!

Planning on booking 2 weeks at OKW in a 2bedroom for next summer - end of August time. One week without the husband, one week with the husband. It probably will be a bit hard with 3 children (all different ages - 14, 9 and 3 yo w/ down syndrome), but I'm sure just being in Disney will make watching the kids at 2 weeks easier than just being home! By the way, anybody from NJ or NY here, AA is running a special right now - $129 round trip airfare for next summer from LaGuardia to MCO. Getting my whole family (5) round trip airfares for $646! Any ideas on what leisurely things to do with three children those ages that's NOT a theme park - please post suggestions!

Hello, rombar! Your family sounds very similar to mine (in ages)! We have a DD16, DD10, and DD3 who has cerebral palsy. It is always a challenge to travel together as a family, but I'm with you... the challenge is more fun at Disney! We are going to WDW just before Christmas and staying at OKW.

I think some fun things to do are: Pool time is #1! We all enjoy that. My DD10 loves Disney Quest and the water parks. My DD16 likes DTD, the movie theatres, the Boardwalk, and enjoying the resort. Bicycling, boating, etc... I love bringing board games to enjoy at the DVC resorts. It's relaxing and fun, too.

rombar, it sounds like you have a great trip planned! We stayed at OKW for the first time earlier this month and loved it! The 2 bedrooms are awesome! I agree with lots of pool time. We also loved the boat ride to SSR/DTD. Have fun planning!

Ride the boat to DD.
Play mini golf.
Go to the WL and watch the Electric Water Pageant some night.
Bunch of fun stuff at Fort Wilderness...there's some kind of barbeque, a petting zoo, campfire stories.
Water park.
Rent a boat at OKW and you can sail all the way to DD.

We will be at OKW for the first 2 weeks in August...............my girls love Hank's and spend many hours in there coloring and doing arts and crafts!! My older DD has a friend join us for one week and that gives her something to look forward to since she is 5 years older than her next sister!!

OKW is fun just hanging at the pool and now with the new slide it should make for even more fun!!
