I am considering changing my October vacation date after seeing the airfare around Canadian Thanksgiving is so much higher compara to the week before or after that, So I called MS this afternoon. I found out most of the resorts are booked solid except of couse SSR and OKW. When I ask if I can wait list for other resorts, the CM told me I can't because I had 2 waitlist before when I tried to book the current reservation. He said there is a 2 waitlist limit per year. I was like WHAT???? is this something new?? My understand is 2 active waitlists at any given time. Or did I missed a memo???? :confused3

I was under the same impression as you. I would call back and speak to another person.

You must have gotten my friend from last Sunday. He argued with me for over 10 minutes about it so I hung up and called back. The next cast member booked my waitlist without a problem.

I did report the issue. Do you have his name? If it's the same guy, someone NEEDS to teach him what the rule actually is.

Hmmm ... did your guy have a name that goes with Hobbs? As in "C_____ & Hobbs"?

I didn't write down his name, I was still in shock when I learn the "new rule" from him. I didn't think of it until I hung up that maybe he is wrong. He sounds like a older guy, that's all I can remember.

Call and check if you are on the waitlist. I was told I was put on the waitlist for BC (I alreadly had BW) and a few weeks later I called to check on the waitlist and the CM said what waitlist, he never put me on it and he was so nice talking to me and telling me about BC and then he doesn't put me on. So double check.

Wait List
Find out the policies and procedures for requesting alternate vacation choices.

If you are unable to secure the reservations you want, rest assured that you do have options. The key is to have alternate choices selected when you contact Member Services. Being flexible with alternate dates, resorts and/or accommodations can assist you in your effort to secure a reservation. However, if you need a specific reservation that is unavailable, you can ask to be placed on a waiting list.

What you need to know about the wait list for Disney Vacation Club Resorts:
  • During the Home Resort Priority, you can only wait list at your Home Resort.
  • You can have up to two active wait list requests per Membership per Use Year.
  • Wait list requests for consecutive nights cannot be split into separate night-by-night requests.
  • Your request will remain on the wait list for up to 31 days before your requested check-in date. If you'd like to keep your name on the wait list beyond that time, contact Member Services at least 32 days prior to your requested check-in date.
  • There is no wait list available within seven days of your requested check-in date.
  • If your wait list request becomes available, Member Services will automatically confirm the reservation and mail a confirmation to you.
  • There is no need to contact Member Services once your request has been placed on the wait list.
  • All other wait list requests or previously confirmed reservations for comparable dates will be cancelled when a wait list request is confirmed.
  • Additionally, you will not be contacted prior to a wait list request being confirmed and a confirmation letter being mailed to you.
  • As a courtesy to other Members, please contact Member Services if you no longer wish to be on the wait list.

Tip: For a better chance of securing your vacation plans when you call Member Services, have second and third choices in mind. Since being on the wait list does not guarantee you a vacation spot, consider whether you can alter your arrival or departure dates or use different accommodations, among other things.
