I can go down to 60 feet with my training.
If you have PADI 'OPEN WATER" certification you are an 'autonomous diver' ... and can do what ever you want ..... PADI RECOMMENDS new divers observe a 60' limit but this is a RECOMMENDATION. dd's third open water div after certification was to 100 foot and violated no rules ....
"safe recreational" diving limits are generally considered to be:
recommended 100 feet (30 meters) for recreational scuba customers. The required maximum depth with recreational scuba customers is 130feet/39meters and 100feet/30 meters for repetitive dives the same day. Quoting from the Cayman
rules.
I am NOT saying 'ignore PADI' but this is a recommendation and not a RULE.
MOST Coz' diving is boat drift diving ..... both of these factors CAN be considered advanced skills by some AND IME a Coz wall dive will be to 90 feet or so .....
{if the PADI recommendation is experienced based what wins? Depth ..... or a newbie trying boats and drift?}
Cayman is famous for its wall and lack of current .... it is EASY diving. BUT the wall starts at 70 foot plus .... a wall dive is a deep dive. AND the wall is almost a mile off shore SO you REALLY need a boat trip.
How about a couple of easy shore dives with no current on a DIY schedule with a profile not to exceed 50 feet?
Investigate shore dives at Eden Rock or Sunset House on Cayman ..... zillion mentions right here on CC
OR ... do the ship excursions .... they are SAFE.
certified in 1973 by a PADI founding father, still active diver, here getting ready for a night dive (her first nite dive) at Sunset House a lil while back . . .
