If something is 2 credits, does that mean for adults and children? It seems silly for a childs credit to be 2 credits for the same food you can eat anywhere else for 1 credit. How does that work???

TIA

The number of credits is the same for adults and children. You are paying for more than the food, you are paying for the restaurant experience in addition to the food. (Yeah, I know how that sounds, but can't think of a better phrase tonight)

So California Grill is 2 credits for an adult and 2 credits for a child. Same restaurant, same number of credits used.

However, it's two child's credits.

The adult plan is $39/day. Figure a $4 snack, $10 CS meal, that leaves $25 toward the TS meal. So any TS worth at least $25 is reasonably worth 1 adult credit.

A 2 TS meal, however...the $4 snack and $10 CS meal you could still use on another day. But now the meal really needs to be worth about $50 per person including tax and tip to be reasonably worth spending 2 adult TS credits.

The child's plan is $11/day. Figure actual values of snack are $4 and CS meal $4. That leaves only $3 for the TS meal, and most kid's TS meals $7.49 or more; kids' buffets are about $11 or $12, so they are always a bargain on the DDP.

At the signature restaurants, the kids' meals are a bit more.

HBD -- appetizer $2-$2.50, entree $4.99-$6.99, dessert $2
Jiko -- appetizer $3, entree $6-$11, dessert $4-$7
CG -- no kids' appetizer menu (do they select from adult menu?), entree $7-$11, dessert $3, beverages (priced separately if OOP, but are included in DDP) $2-$3

A kid's 3 course meal at a signature restaurant could cost $11-$21 or more. And at the signature restaurants, the kids' selections are much more upscale and imaginative: filet of beef, rice krispy sushi, white chocolate puzzles with "paints" to decorate them, broiled chicken breast, broiled fish.

So the kids' are paying 2 TS credits, which if the snack and CS credits are given actual value of $4 each, then the kids' TS credits are only costing $3 each. If you look at it that way, a child's 2 TS meal is only costing you about $6.
