we will be going befor the free ddp starts,we are planning on stayin DVC 7 nights then pop 7 nights. When were at pop we would be checking in Aug 24.As the free ddp is rumored to kick in on the 26th could we book pop as 2 bookings, 2 nights then 5 nights with the free ddp.Is this doable or would disney frown upon it.Just wish inlaws would fly the sunday then we would have no problems

Yes we did this last year :)

yes, you could do it this way. But remember that you MUST buy tickets as well with the free dining. (Run the numbers - you could always buy one day base tickets and then save them for a future trip, or apply them to future tickets.)

planning on doin it with 1 day base ticket:thumbsup2 .We are going to SSR( were in dvc ) first will pay the the ddp for the 7 nights there then the 2 nights room only at pop with no ddp( give time to digest the food). Then 5 nights with 1 days base ticket to get the ddp free for that part of the stay.
There will be 10 of us(6 adults and 4 kids)In a way it works out cheaper doing it this way,the cost if we had done it with flight from uk and 14 nights pop for the 10 of us would have been £9,200 ($18,032)doing it surgested works out to £8,565($16,787)
I know we are using points for the rooms at SSR so thats the dues for a year £480 ($940) plus banked points we would have lost if we hadent stayed at DVC.so cost now £9,125(17,885) with 12 nights ddp(5 free)and a park ticket.Plus we stay at a delux 7 nights and a value for 7 nights .
This way it still feels like free dinning as it works out cheaper than 2 weeks at pop going with a UK TA with no dinning plan at all.We were unable to to book it last year on the uk offer as FIL passed away just as we were about to book it

my head just spun off.

Isn't that what spreadsheets are for? (not that I know how to use one. I would have pages and pages of calculations that I was comparing.)

:thumbsup2

Glad it works for you Paul, it comes out on our last 6 nights there and it will cost the 4 of us $140 over the cost of the AAA rate so I don't think it is for us at this cost. Having to buy the one pass for the second week really bumps up the cost. We are staying at BCVs so will be able to prepare our breakfasts and lunches on days we plan to go back for a rest or spend time by the pool. We don't really eat table service every day either.
