Hello all! My family and I have two standard studios booked. Does riviera have connecting studio rooms? If not, does riviera have two studio rooms next to or across from each other? Thank you!

Riviera does not have connecting studios. The only resort with connecting studios is Poly.

If you look through Touring Plans, there are Standard Studios next door to each other on each floor, but because of how they're laid out it may not be possible for an assignor to grant you the adjoining units.

Do some of the Resort studios at VGF connect also? I never really followed that but if not then DVC removed connecting doors when they refurbed.

I believe all the resort studios at VGF are connecting. I know the one we stayed in was connecting.

Just wanted to add that if you’re a DVC owner, you can chat/email/call MS, give them both confirmation numbers, and ask them to put a “traveling with” notation on them. That lets the room assigners know you’d like to be close together. If you’re renting points, the DVC owner needs to do that. If you’re booking from Disney for cash, you need to call the resort booking number and do the same thing.

Not all of them, but many. The 6 (?) different floors and 3 different room views can make it difficult to assign connecting rooms, especially on some of the less-busy arrival days. Gotta have side-by-side rooms with connecting door and same view being vacated on the same day if there's any hope of meeting that request.

Perfect will do

They try but I will say we have gone a few times and all but once, we were not even on the same floor.

Exactly, go with the expectation that the rooms will not be close. If that isn't acceptable, book Poly where the request is almost always met - or book a bigger unit. If they do manage to get you close to each other, you can be delighted instead of upset when you end up a floor away and down the hall.

Poly is almost always able to accommodate a request for connecting rooms? This is good to know!

It still isn't a guarantee - if you ABSOLUTELY need connecting rooms (because, say, you have kids over the occupancy for a studio and if they don't connect, Mom and Dad will be sleeping down the hall from each other and that just won't work), you need to book a two bedroom - but your chances are really good at the Poly.

The two times we stayed at poly we requested connecting rooms and got them. Now I'm a bit worried about having two studios at Riviera.

Unfortunately, as you’ve read above, there are no connecting studios at RIV. The best you can do is have the Traveling With notation placed on both reservations and hope that you’ll be close together.
