2 rooms or a 2BR Villa

We have moved to either renting points or booking through Disney with AP discount a two bedroom villa. It allows us to pack lighter as we can do laundry once while there. We also have water, beer, and some snacks delivered. Just works out much better. Ends up costing us right at what two mod rooms with no discount is.

More actual beds in two rooms . Sometimes people need their space also . Not everyone likes to be together all the time . Makes for a more enjoyable trip . 😃

I agree it depends on the situation and Which villa hotel you are planning to book, we have small kids, and the 2BR is ideal. There’s more space for them to run around, there is a room to send them to nap, there’s a living room with a couch where early risers can sit and drink coffee while not disturbing the sleepers. Not to mention, the kitchen makes breakfast a breeze.
not all 2BR are created equally. We stayed at SS, and enjoyed it, and then discovered OKW for the same price, and it was twice the space, bigger balcony, and a theme we liked more.

Depends on your makeup, but my family trips are typically 5 adults. We used to do 2-3 hotel rooms at a Hilton nearby. In September, the rates for the Hilton were very high so we rented points and did a 2 bedroom at SSR. My mom can't stop raving about how much she loved it. She is super picky about hotels and already is talking about it for the next trip. It gave us a great area to eat breakfast every morning and having the washer/dryer was amazing. It was great to come home with a suitcase full of clean clothes. It was also nice to have the full fridge so we had cold drinks & didn't have to buy in the park. We were also able to bring back leftovers to have the next day. At SSR, we had more than enough sleeping surfaces so everyone had a real bed & none of the siblings had to share.

We really use the kitchen and in room laundry a lot so we prefer the 2 bedroom villa. We stay at BLT, so the 3rd bathroom is really nice as well when we have 8 or 9 people coming back from the parks and ready to shower.

I would only get the villa if you plan to use the kitchen.

Depending on the resort, the apples-to-apples price comparison might actually be closer to THREE rooms versus a 2BR villa.

Unless you plan on utilizing the kitchen and eating a lot of meals in the room, I would go with the two rooms.

Not sure about the more beds thing as a 2 bedroom villa has the murphy bed in the living room (and it's really comfortable) and the pull down trundle bed (kid size) also in the living room. I personally feel like we have more space in a two bedroom villa with two separate bedrooms AND a living room AND a patio area but to each their own. We usually rent points so, while it is typically a tiny bit more expensive, we find it pretty comparable and so generally gravitate towards those.

The villa will be more expensive, but it comes with a kitchen, living room area, your own washer and dryer, and more space.

2 rooms will be cheaper and come with 4 real beds, instead of 3 beds and a pull out couch.

I like the "gathering" space of a villa. Space to hang out together, plan tomorrow, etc. And even if you don't cook, coffee and muffins or cereal in the morning, snacks and drinks make the kitchen usable.

We are a family of four and prefer a 2BR villa. We also have DVC.

I don't like to put the kids in a completely separate room, so a 2BR works well for us. We do stock the kitchen because we eat breakfast in the room before we leave and often have afternoon pool snacks (cheese, dips, etc.) and late night snacks.

We have been spoiled by DVC, but we wouldn't do vacation any other way.

I wish the original poster would respond with their needs and specifics of who this is for . We can go on for days about what would be better ! 🤣
